No, Don't use any video recorder or such. Every single spring game is recorded as a springdemofile sdf in your spring directory folder /demo. Just submit the game you played with your friends here and we'll watch it.

Imageformats has nothing to do with your streaklines you mentioned rather than the compiler you are using. I suggest using this http://www.springfiles.com/show_file.php?id=1745

The streaklines won't show up... What I attached was behe's fixed mothers mapconv.

Edit: Dangit nak, I attached those files for a reason. USE the mapconv and tools in that zip!

Sigh...

I did compile the map with the map conv you linked me to. As for fixing the lines, I'll get that done soon. For the time being, I'm happy I have a working map thanks to the help both of you provided. Sorry about that, that's what I meant to say in that post. I had some things distracting me in Real Life when I made that post >.> Sorry about that.

I'm still a bit confused about that what was the problem? First you spoke about problem, which you wasn't able to describe properly and now you tell that it's all fixed by different compiler. Huh, what is this?

1st problem was the he defined a movetype in the smd when there was no typemap which results in nothing being able to move.

Secondly, whatever compiler he was using was full of fail and suck, so I pointed him to behe's fixed mothers.

I don't know the exactly what the 1st compiler I was using was doing wrong but it was clear that it was compiling some information wrong that caused spring to misinterpret the map wrong and have the units path finding be completely confused and screwed up to the point that the units would think that the right was up at the top and possible where there appeared to be a path had no path at least according to the units path finding engine due to the screwed up job of the map being compiled. This was also to the point where some units would think that the left side circle was the circle in the lower middle of the map and that the right side did and didn't exist at the same time as far as the units path finding actually went, even though everything else displayed correctly.

Not sure if this is being clear enough. So you just had a map that looked correctly visually and with the movement maps but as far as the path finding engine went, it was looking at a misshapen map. This was causing my problem of my map not working correctly and causing the units confusion even though everything appeared to look correct.

It was from a web site that was from a old link in one of the threads here. Forgot the website name but the name of the file I downloaded for the compiler called itself mapconv12.zip. Forgot exactly how I got to the site that had it, cause I was frustrated with trying to get it to work for a week straight. I do remember the link saving mapconv 1.2 which lead to an area of that website that no longer existed. So um yeah... when I was first exploring the map making idea, I was kinda going all over the website for info and etc. to help me get started.

fileuniverse.com

THat explains a lot, and yes, that compiler is OOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLDDDDDD!

FU used to be the main file host for spring stuff, but the owner went retarded one day and deleted all the spring related files on FU, which prompted Unknown files, which later went kaboom, and now we have springfiles.com, darkstars.co.uk, and springinfo.info off of which carry the bulk of the filehosting load.

Please use my mapconv stickied in this subforum.
Also, make SURE that your typemap is (heightmap-1)/2 sized, or it will resize and leave you with gaps.

Well yes, seems that the problem was much bigger and different than I thought. However, we can put this now aside since the mystery is solved. Geez I thought it was just because of engine side pathing...

I find it hard to comprehend that mapconv could screw up any part of a map besides the typemap (and even then only if its the wrong size) Since undefined typemaps default to 1 1 1 1

behe, it's an ooooold version of the compiler, more than 6 years old, this is back when maps had to be all red and shit. There is a reason why there is a map called "Redhaven" :-)
