Hey guys! i think the headline shows everything.i really would like to know if there is side wich is better when you decide to play bots.....i can not really decide wich side is cheaper/faster/more effective....
thank you for answers...
Core has freakers, the can, flamers, pretty much everything you need to roll through a base and in general, rape the enemy. In CA, core bots are super OP, with units like the Jack, and other things that can jump.
Arm has some interesting t2 bots, and they are definitely very powerful in their variety, but if 2 players are playing correctly core will win by spamming cumloads of morties.
imo, for the way i play, core bots are better... fleas are flimsy and die fast to AKs, ak can kill peewee if you micro it right... warrior is decent, but only good for attacking in a big group... the prices are more reasonable for core also, especially when you factor in the cost of solars.
ive noticed that in lategame spams, a mixed force of ak and peewee is more effective than a homogenous spam.
idk, they tend to absorb damage well... ive seen groups of them walk through t1 porc; although as i don't use them myself i'll defer to your analysis and take your word.
Storms vs. Rockos:
Storms are somewhat cheaper than Rockos, have the same weapon, and generally the same stats, so Storms are better.
Thuds vs. Hammers:
Thuds are slightly more expensive than Hammers, but have no animation before firing, so Thuds are better.
AKs vs. Peewees:
AKs are considerably cheaper than Peewees in metal cost, move as fast or faster, have longer range, less health, and less dps, so AKs are better. AKs can also, for cost, beat almost any other land unit, to include T3. (Levellers are about it for beating them for cost.)
Fleas and Warriors (no Core equivalent):
Arm does have Fleas and Warriors, but Flea health is so low they can't use their firepower effectively, and Warriors, while given good range and health, are too slow to raid or flank, don't fire over each other or through wreckage effectively, and cost more than their return (although they do have a niche role when resources are plentiful).
Both factions have generally equal T2 bots.
Pyros vs. Zippers:
Zippers are faster with high dps and low health, and effective against units, defenses and structures. Pyros are only really effective against slow, low AoE units and non-defense structures.
Zeuses versus Cans:
Zeuses are fast enough to fill an assault role - Cans are not. Zeuses have similar health / dps for cost to Cans, but more ease getting around wreckage and each other to fire.
Sumos vs. Fatboys:
Sumos win out in a direct fight against high value targets, and Fatboys win out against spam. With the recent Fatboy buff, the two are at parity.
Morties & Doms vs. Snipers:
Morties and Dominators win out for range against Snipers, as Doms have greater range, and Morties have better health and no wasteful firing animation. Low Sniper health and high cost and easy counterability make Snipers an ineffective unit in most games.
Fidos suck:
Fidos have neither sufficient range nor health nor dps for cost.
Freakers vs. Assist bots:
Freakers are better than Arm assist bots because of better build options.
Arm mobile A-nukes are bots:
Arm's mobile anti-nuke is a bot, whereas Core's is a vehicle. Core bots win at power defense, ranged offense and builder options, but lose at mobile assault and mobile anti-nuke abilities.
Arm Kbots are generally better at Tier 3.
Razorbacks vs. Kargs:
Razorbacks can't climb cliffs as per Kargs, but have considerably more firepower and staying power for cost, so a toss up. Kargs are generally ineffective for offense if economies are equal.
Juggs vs. Banthas vs. Krogoths:
Juggs have insane health, but huge build times, and very low speed make them impractical. Banthas have better maneuverability than Krogs, and more firepower for cost at range, creating effective T3 that can spread out and cover each other. Krogs have many horrendous vulnerabilities, and bad pathing with the "new" Krogoth model.
Vanguards sort of suck:
Vanguards have a potential niche role, but slow speed makes them easy to counter even with range.
There are specific uses for each "worthwhile" Kbot, however, so which faction you'll want to play will be situational to map and position. Are you frontline or a techer (is there even a rear line)? Is your plan to win through assault or hold the line for rear players (if there are any)? Generally speaking, Arm is better at offense and Core at defense. Defense is harder to play effectively, so are you even capable of maximizing Core's utility? Do you have more resources than your opponent? Are you looking to finish them quickly, or hold them back? Is the map conducive to raiding?
Generally speaking, you'll only be using one or two bot types from each lab - those best suited to your plan of action.
For Tier 1 assault, Storms are best. For Tier 1 heavy mountain traversing, Thuds are best. For Tier 1 air drop or overwhelming assault with heavy resources, Warriors are best. For Tier 1 spam (generally with heavy resources and many labs / nanos), AKs are by far the best. For early scouting / raiding, AKs are best.
For Tier 2 assault, Zeuses are best. For Tier 2 anti-spam, Fatboys are best. For Tier 2 line creep, Sumos are best. For Tier 2 ranged assault, Morties are best. For single crazy micro ranged assault while building resources, Dominators are best. For fast T2 defenses at the front, Freakers are best. For flank raiding in weak spots / exploiting gaps and openings, Zippers are best. For best lol moments, Core cloaked crawling bombs are best. For Tier 2 countering Tier 3, EMP spiders are best. For Tier 2 Core "Holy shit they're swarming me with Tier 1 and this is my only lab!", Pyros are acceptable, but only in the very short term.
For Tier 3 endgame assault, Banthas are best. For Tier 3 early overwhelming economy assault, Kargs are best. For Tier 3 early defense and line creep, Razorbacks are best.
If you don't see a bot in a "best" list, or can't use a "best" bot in its "best" role, then don't build it. Unless you're on the team I'm stomping - then build all the Rockos and Hammers and Fidos and Cans and Snipers and Pelicans and Gimps and Spies and rocket spiders and Termites and Crawling bombs and Juggernauts and Krogoths you like.
