I've been gone for a while - I see the GUI has had a massive upgrade.
Unfort it keeps crashing - I've tweaked the settings endlessly and I can't get things right. I'm running on a P4 3.2, 1.5 gig ram and using an AIT X1650.
The problem is thus: I start up a game and after a while of playing the GUI disapears. It almost seems to be linked with the SHIFT QUE function where I'm queing up some buildings to be done and when I press shift the gui disapears and I can't que anything. Then it gets worse and the screen goes black - almost as though it is on permanent 'view metal patches' mode. Alt-tabbing only fixes it sometimes.
Any help?

Re: gui crashing problem
try upgrading(/downgrading) your graphic driver.
try disabling some widgets/all Lua.

Re: gui crashing problem
I have the very same issue, how can I disable LUA ?
Re: gui crashing problem
First: we need to know if its the default Spring GUI crashing or one of the LUA UIs? How to know that:
1) BA has "LolUI" enabled by default, CA also has some UI - press F11 to see the list of widgets, see if there is anything with "UI" in there, disable it (click on it until it becomes red)
2) try typing "/luaui reload" when crash occurs

Re: gui crashing problem
Thanks for all the help. It seems to have stopped the screen from going metal-mode permanently, but the issue with using shift key to que orders still bugs out by making my building to place disapear. Least I can play now, sort of.
Cheers.
