Reinstall, and choose TASclient on install options, in my experience that works better.

I'm having the same problem with the unitsync library. I already have all my hosting settings saved in SpringLobby, and I can't figure out how to make TASClient use a relay host. I don't see changing clients as a viable option. So... how do we fix the unitsync.dll issue?

Ooh I have a good idea: when the unitsync error happens, SpringLobby should automatically switch to TASClient. This would help retain noobs who are having issues.

may have found a way to fix this.

1 go to option in springlobby
2 then to spring
3 uncheck search only in current install path
4 click the autoconfigure button
5 click apply in the bottom right
6 finally restart springlobby,

Good chance it will work fine now, seems to have worked for me

you move your mouse cursor to the "relay host" checkbox, then push the left button of your mouse !

Just tried to install on my brother's computer, had problem with UnitSync.dll.

Tried 0.78.2 and 0.80.5.2 and 0.80.5.2 game installer, just in case.

Tried installing in "D:\Games\Spring" and "C:\Program Files\Spring" and "C:\Program Files\Spring Engine"

The .dll is there. The path is correct. StoneCrow's advice doesn't work. TASClient also crashed on start.

System:
Windows XP Pro SP 2
AMD Athlon XP 2000+ @ 1.7Ghz, ECS K75A mobo
768MB DDR ram
Radeon 9000 64MB with Catalyst 6.11
Open AL, .NET Compact framework for SP2, .NET 1.1 and 2.0, Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable -x86 9.0.30729.17 all installed - seemed like it had something to do with it.

Hopefully this will help somewhat... *shrug* Basically there is no way to run Spring on this system.
