Anybody remember back when you would go to watch the youtube vid and watch JUST the youtube vid?

I mean, wtf ads before you watch, ads pop up at the bottom while you watch, and the vid is a friggin ad in the first place.

You need to watch ads just to watch an ad.

Anyway, ranting done, carry on here...

There are often popups in the video itself, obscuring it.

voxels, huh

i remember a game back in 1995 using that for the first time, some sort of helicopter thing.

i just hope this game is fun. and difficult. it would be a shame if it looks that nice and isn't fun to play for more than 5 minutes (which quite frankly is my problem with modern games)

Their sandbox and other features are pretty compelling, tbh.

I'd mess with it and try it out, but my hardware's too old to run it.

Looks pretty great, but more entertainment can be had by reading the comments.

"Would looks so much better if it wasn't on X360!"
"They made the engine crappy so it'd run on PS3!"
"Cryengine 2 > Cryengine 3!"
"Yeah, in terms of amount of SUCK! LMAO!!!!"

Crysis/Warhead were pretty fun IMO. I think the key to enjoying them fully is to play on easy or medium, that way you can go Predator on those dirty foreigners.

i played through original farcry on the hardest difficulty (fair amount of loaded games, lemme tell you)

that last section, where you're in that big volcano area... what the hell was that? probably one of the worst areas i've seen in any game whatsoever; the only way to win was by hiding in the doorway, using a LOS glitch, and shooting the enemies in the arms.

after i beat the game, i thought "hur. there must be a better way to do it." so ofc, i went on youtube and had a look at a "guide" video. and of course, in the guide, the guy was doing the exact same thing.

has there ever been a popular mod on any of the farcry games? i could see it being great for a vietnam war game or a sniper battle or something like that.

well it's true though, game consoles have nowhere near the power you can have with a PC, and CE2 can look better at times, however if they release CE3 for PC i'm sure it'll be much better.

i've only played crysis a couple of times but i've seen some comparison videos and you really can tell how console limitations screw up CE3

That's like saying that because Oblivion was released on consoles that it made the PC version inferior.

... No, wait, that's a terrible example since it's true.

...uhh...

...Ok, what I said before, but about... DAMMIT are there any games anymore that get ported from PC to console??

My point WAS that the engine was made by PC developers, for the PC, and it has now been enhanced so much that it actually looks similar to the PC version despite being on hardware that is inferior in every way. Just because it's console-compatible now has no bearing on how it will look on a properly-equipped PC. It's like if they released Crysis for consoles and used the medium detail preset. It doesn't mean that High and Very High no longer exist. Crytek are first and foremost PC graphics whores, they won't let their kin down.

yeah that's exactly what i meant. CE3 will probably have much higher settings when run on a capable PC, and while it may look worse on consoles when you have it on a PC it'll be much more awesome.
