What the hell happened to Take Reminder?

So far I've lost 3 games after missing my teammate dropping. Where did Take Reminder go? It's in the Widget list, it's green, but it doesn't show anything. I get the massive glut of GUI events when I actually do take, but I never see the message that I need to.

Thinking it over, I'm also not seen the start-boxes. Did something change in the graphics code in 8.04?
