Problems getting NTAI working

Post by patmos »

I have installed the latest version of spring and downloaded the latest copy of NTAI from sourceforge but I can't get the AI to work. I moved the NTAI.dll into the AIdll directory under spring but everytime I start a game against the AI I get a dll error.

I have been starting spring directly and have not tried the lobby.

Any pointers to what I am doing wrong?

By latest I mean binary not source. So I have the latest pre-complied versions of Spring and NTAI but they don't seem to work together.

That shouldnt be.

First off, the latest NTAI version isnt at sourceforge, onyl 0.2-0.2/3 whiever is there.

You want NTAI 0.26 with has the required binaries along with it. See the NTAI threads or search on fileplanet.

Or wait till spring 0.7 is out and 0.3, or any other minor releases I make between now and then, I dunno something that can build krogoths and intimidators perhaps? Or doomsday machines, capable of reaching 12k energy and 300 metal on valley fo war in 17 minutes?

AF thanks I got the AI working with the downloads at FileUniverse and it is cool. But the spring.exe included does not have ctrl-c or ctrl-z support. That making creating a group of units very hard.

I hope these keyboard shortcuts are reenabled in the 0.7 release.

Did the key editor suddenly vanish?

No the key editor did not vanish but the keys do not work inside of the latest version of spring AF had included with his AI dll. Since I am assuming that this is a pre-version 0.66 of spring I was wondering why they did not work.

I checked uikeys.txt and selectkeys.txt and they were still set to the right info. So that means that something inside of of this pre 0.66 version is not working.

Upgraded to 0.66b1 and while the ctrl-c and ctrl-z do work I am back to not having a working version of NTAI. This seems to be an issue with AF's distribution of pre 0.66 stuff which I am sure he is going to fix once he gets some time.

Well I was annoyed havign to re-release the modified spring.exe everytime I wanted to rerelease NTAI so I stuck to a single itnerface version.

But now 0.66 is out I'll be sure to make my next release work with it.

Looking forward to the new version of NTAI. Thanks in advanced. It looks like JCAI had some improvements to it also in 0.66b1

I have yet to see anybody who has played the JCAI bundled with 0.66 and reported that ti did anythign other than just build two metal extractors then cease functioning.

Which leaves me with a big open door to stick ym foot in.

Yeah, the jcai bundled with 0.66 works for me to, unless I try to
use more than one. That is now fixed on the CVS.
