Those functions had been removed over 6 months ago, then reinserted only to not make tasclient crash (see commit 5144062ad8e037f9b969cd73bfebce4c284617ec) and finally removed again 7 weeks ago (5414bcfa033a0ba0d307713243e0b49227b8792d)

tasclient is more stable than ever, i don't have ANY crash/errors and it's faster than ever so .... wtf are you talking about !! the only known crash is the one when closing but it doesn't really hurt, if you really experience crashes, try disabling scripts

Noticeable bugs/annoyances:
  • When I close tasclient the process remains, then the next time I load it, it will hang on 'creating forms'.
  • When you close some panels in the battle windows, and the close/reopen the battle window it causes an error 'Cannot focus a disabled or invisible window'
  • The battle window takes 50% longer to load than it used to.
  • The battle window chat box cannot be resized more than 30% of the window size.

closing crash fixed, dont close the battle chat panel, it focus on it when switching to battle screen (so if you move it to another form it will focus the chat and not the battle window) that's a feature not a bug even if it shouldn't show that bug msg, battle window slower than before to show ? you mean it's slower to join a game ? try disabling the unit icons and name loading in the options, disable the height and metal map loading too, more features, more things to load, the battle chat can be resized as you want, but sometimes you can't resize it more than another splitter above or under, so when you can't move a splitter, check the other one at the same position and move it the other way and then move the first one

edit :closing crash actually not fixed :D
edit2: now it is

One word: QtLobby

It is being constantly updated, is visually pleasing and even incudes features that helps you to live with bugs that are not being addressed in spring engine itself (Attempt rejoin battle option for those of us who suffer from spring sometimes launching as not responding)

I mean really!

And not a single crash since 1.0 Alpha !

I might even try that one:
SpringLobby is so badly written it needs to release updates averagely every second day (see their changelog!). I know what software writing is like, and I know what debigging is, but seriously:
1. think before you do
2. do not release something before it is at least stable enough to do its basic functionality
On the other hand, no software will ever be free of bugs.
But Im exited to see what the updated TASclient is like :)

Wtf are people bitching about, seriously i cant deny that ive had so many problems in the past with TAS client but the latest versions have been more stable than any ive used before. It runs suprisingly smooth and the problem i had for about 20 updates of the lobby freezing has actually gone. This is like the 25th thread on people whining about the lobby. And why are the devs getting involved in this failure of a thread? Lock it?

Didnt help ;)

//I have completly sweeped the dir, reinstalled whole Spring, tried .51 and .52, check uncheck, etc.
I have recently messed with MS VB 200x redist, dunno if it can be the troublemaker...

it was broken because your battle chat panel was hidden (i guess you just clicked on the panel close button by accident) and the layout is saved in the registry ... reinstalling didn't overwrite it, next time you have that error (i'll add a workaround to focus on the battle player list if the chat is hidden) just go in options view and display the battle chat
