MessageBot! The (not so) new bot in the spring lobby!

Post by MidKnight »

Messagebot sends messages to people who are offline!
for example,
"!message lurker Which one of your smurfs should I message for you to get my message fastest?"
will PM the user lurker with the text "Which one of your smurfs should I message for you to get my message fastest?" when he next logs in.
He also has a !help command

He's been in the lobby for a few months now, if you want him to join your channel, just ask, and I'll make it so!

If you want the source, I can give it to you, but the bot won't work without a special version of Aegis's springlib, which I'll need to get his permission to distribute on a per-person basis, so expect a short delay in between asking for the source and getting it.

My code is pretty well commented, and you're free to work off of it, provided that you stick to the lobby bot guidelines.

A thanks to Aegis for his nice (although slightly carelessly/hastily written :P ) SpringLib, along with Lurker and AlcariTheMad for the copious amounts of help I received from them along the way.

But... the 'lurker' node isn't used often, and asking that question to a single node...

what are you talking about? it's not careless, simply incomplete... it's actually really clean code iirc.
the old springlib, however, was a huge mess.
