Re: Random WIP
Lemmi, your texturing is good and you're showing lots of promise, but you really need to learn to take criticism better. Smoth has very good points, and as one of the community's best texturers, you should respect his opinions and take them seriously.
Re: Random WIP
Wont this just look like a black blob from gameplay distance?
It will probably be impossible to see the cannons..

Re: Random WIP
I'm sorry, I'll keep that in mind next time.rattle wrote:Mind taking screenshots without OpenGL spec./shading?
(as in set specular to 0 and ambient to 1 in the material properties)
Re: Random WIP
No offense intended.
You can swtich back and forth between one of the shaders and default shading if you assign a hotkey to One Light under View, in case you want them back and don't want to mess with the material settings all the time.
You really should be looking at the fullbright texture without any shading when you do your own shading or work on the texture in general.

Re: Random WIP
correct, no turret.
it rotates its whole body to aim
well it can pitch somewhat with its turret, but to yaw it has to rotate the whole unit

Re: Random WIP
very pretty lemmi, but i still think it looks too hard to distinguish from distance
i think you got it right with the scout probe, solid blocks of colour work better
