I don't really have any objection to the stickies, although I think that we should probably consolidate them into "Classic OTA Unit Remakes" and "ModelBase / Open Source Finished Models", myself.

I stickied Cremuss and my work up top to show people what would be preferable quality to shoot for when remaking the OTA units, its that simple.

You don't like it Regret?, show us what you personally can do with modeling&texture instead of griping that ours isn't perfect enough.

well the sticked stuff means good quality released no more WIP

so if someone sayd 4 MODELS textured scripted dl links included if people responded well

"awesome"
"great"

this should be the criteria now threads like work in progress models are temporary threads, no point in sticking them

if those people would like their work stickied for posterity pm the moderators, if theyr good enough and generaly people like them(seen by responses on threads) then voilá.
sticked........

Why don't we setup some sort of a Gallery system with ratings, throw models with pics / stuff in there, categorize by _(completeness?), have people/devs rate stuff, and sticky that instead.

Why not setup a model database as part of the player's site?

Ah, I thought it was just a forum bot, my mistake. :|

EDIT: However, the site does look really ugly, and I don't see a rating/review system anywhere.

If I was abusing my power to promote my own work, I would have stickied every single seperate post for each model I created.

Instead, Rattle collected about 70% of my finished and scripted models that were 100% together and ready for ingame use and made 1 single post which I stickied, as I had planned to update them individually within that 1 post as I went back to fix things.

Cremuss started his own thread that I thought he would continue with for releasing his own set of models, so I stickied that one too, but then down the road he stopped making spring models all together.

If Smoth or any other modeler asked me to, I'd sticky their collection of work as well.

Regret, I'd even sticky yours if you got off your high horse and did something constructive to put towards clearing up OTA content.

Let me pose this question then....

Why is it only Ta related work that gets featured? If it is the effort of a project to see ta related stuff get replaced, does that not belong in said project's subforum?

If it is a question of quality? why are SWIW and S44's thread not an announcement?

If it is a question of accessibility, why are they not just posted on model base?

Seems to effectively tell all other projects we are not important enough. Honestly, it is kind of degrading. It is frustrating enough when the Non-ta projects have to endure the never ending mockery that comes with not being ta related and seen as second class. In art and modeling all projects are regarded as equals, we can all post in random WIP, we can all have our own threads.

However, to sticky those two threads you tell everyone, no matter what, we are not as important.

really uncool.
