Hi,

Yeah, I got a job for a bit.

It looks like clan-sy's svn is going to die, so the code is now in a
repository here:

https://github.com/hughperkins/SpringMapDesigner/tree

... minus the dlls, since I don't have much upload bandwidth.

I'm running Ubuntu now, and in theory I'm trying to avoid doing any
development, but it could be nice to get the project in a usable state
again. Maybe using mono? Unsure. Tempted to migrate to Java, but I
think that's probably quite a lot of work, and jna seems to be
very slow.

It looks like the main issue with mapdesigner is that it supports an
unused map standard? Maybe I'll dig around the wiki and stuff a bit and
see to what extent it's easy/incredibly hard to migrate to a different
mapping standard.

Edit: just noticed that the last post on this thread is from 2007. Is
there something else that replaces what MapDesigner was aiming to do?

? why this tool? there is L3DT (the best), Springmapedit_660, Gimp,Photoshp ...

There is also World Machine, WICed, Carrara, Bryce...
