That's why I torrented the game, but I have a pretty hardcore rig for the most part, and still all I could manage was 60 fps during the daytime, about 15 - 30 at night, and below 10 when it started raining.

The game runs like shit, and if I'd have bought it retail I would have killed someone.

FYI, next time you read on a games forums about all the trouble ppl at having with bullshit in the game, torrent it first and try it out, if it's worth the trouble, then go buy it.

This'll probably sound really silly and sad to all of you, but I enjoyed GTA 2 a lot more than GTA 3. Now they made Chinatown Wars for the DS and it's awesome.

It's... a service pack? Services packs are like bypasses, you've got to have them you know.

Why would I want to update something that works fine?

Why would you want to polish a diamond? Why proofread an already-epic post? Why brush an already-fluffy cat? Why continue adding more examples to a post that could've ended sentences ago?

I've read too many reports of incompatibilities and random errors/crashes after updating to sp3, my xp sp2 gives me no problems at all and there is nothing that the upgrade would give me that I could use instead of more instability.

This is completely irrelevant but i don't think it's worth an entire new thread.
The new Wolfenstein, although hardly revolutionary and quite outdated graphically is fun as hell(if you don't take the game's plot seriously).

stop being a hippy and get it for something it was made for.

That said, it was the worst GTA out of the series, and the online play, realism, and lack of quircks the old games had, just made the game a joke.

Also, this game mechanic:

"HEY NIKO DO YOU WANT TO GO BOWLING."
"No not right now cousin, im doing the same mission i did 5 minutes ago, for the 50th time"
"I HATE YOU NIKO"
ect.

Says just about all game consists of.

You mean I should pay again? If it's a game for console why is it being sold on PC? There is no reason a console port HAS to be bad - other than laziness and greed. GTAIII worked alright.

Actually I took Michelle bowling and when I tried to talk to the clerk I pushed the wrong button and Niko leap over the counter and knocked the guy unconscious. The mission didn't end though it wanted me to talk to the unconscious guy but all I could do is punch him more. I waited about 10 minutes for the guy to get up but he never did.

Strangely enough Michelle didn't mind that her date was a psychopath and apparently none of the other patrons or staff cared either.

P.S.

Dear Rockstar Social Club,

Kindly close when I click the close button and GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY PROCESS LIST! Your help in this matter is much appreciated.

a port in no way means it was designed to play for the PC, it just means you can play it on there

Tl;dr GTAVI failed, it was all lulz and epic ranting on rockstar forums.

i must agree with u guys :)

ordered gta4 on amazon, most of the stuff (updates, windows live) i already had installed so all i needed additionally was social club and activation.

Installed the latest patch and started playing, it loads forever..., even i do consider my pc to be fast, it just wasn't funny anymore.

The Story i really liked, also the graphics,

i had like 2 major probs through playing..

first beeing at one point i couldn't do any more missions, cause the game was stuck somehow (didn't cheat nor tried something else) read some forums, found out others had the same problem...great, had to d'load a savegame and killed the games for windows to import savegames....what a mess

2nd

couldn finish the last mission with my keyboard, i HAD to use my gamepad, which is just wrong.

where i usually played all the other gtas just for fun after the story was done, with cheats driving around with the tank, do shit, this fun is over with gta4, no tanks, no more cool villas and all the cheat trainer don't work :( and the effin long loading screen just kills the " let's have a quick 5 min driving and shooting"

Speaking of controllers, before I patched it to the latest version the game would ONLY accept an XBox controller. You don't get any more fucked up than that.

Just thought i'd say i completely agree with this. I rarely buy games anymore, and don't really bother with torrents etc either much now, but GTAIV is a fucking joke.

Bought it a couple of months ago, and essentialy just use it as a glorified £35 beer mat. I knew it'd be DRM'd up to its arse but i tohugt i'd give it a go nonetheless. I will now never purchase another piece of shit like this again from either ROckstar or any other company, no matter what. Absolute pile of bollocks.

Pain in the arse to install, pain the the arse to load, pain in the arse to run, only highlight was the surprise of hearing some Simian Mobile Disco. It's a massive pile of cack, i'm certain titles like this can only harm their industry.

Pile of tripe!
