Direct Unit Control Doesn't work

I select a unit
I press C
It goes into direct control mode
I press arrow up
The unit plays its walk/roll animation
The unit does not move

Either fix or provide me a way to use 0.79.1.2 in multiplayer.

Edit: saw that, tested a spring_exe_0.80.2-38-gab5a37f.zip, was fixed there.

you use direct unit control in multiplayer? sounds suicidal.

No. I used Direct Player Control in single player, while testing the new version that I hoped to release of "Spring Racers", a mod where each player is given a car or a horse, that only move when direct controlled, and where the goal is to follow a winding road, which is the only passable area of the special map you're meant to play on, and first to finish line win the game.
