YES I'M READY
Spring has 2 ready options. First is in the battle lobby and second is when you get ingame. Waiting for people to ready up is what takes up most of the time in "sitting around doing nothing land".
By getting rid of one of these ready stages, we elimnate waiting time!
I suggest get rid of lobby ready and just have the ingame ready. In all seriousness, we do not need 2 ready stages.
I've never heard of any other game that forces places to tell everybody they're ready twice... I want my seconds back!

Re: YES I'M READY
So you suggest that you sit ingame, and people come and go from the game until enough ready up?
Removing the ingame ready, on the other hand, makes it so people have to be on the edge of their seat for 15 minutes.
I'm sure it's possible to have a single ready, but not just using one of the existing readies.

Re: YES I'M READY
you can do this by allowing people to select starting positions through the lobby.

Re: YES I'M READY
Eliminate ready buttons right now:
1) Springlobby lets the host start without caring if everyone's ready. Autohosts have !forcestart.
2) Use fixed or random positions instead of choose-in-game.

Re: YES I'M READY
Team games are balanced often before start (players join and leave). You would need to set new positions every time.Gota wrote:you can do this by allowing people to select starting positions through the lobby.
I known that you are aware that some autohosts do not support that.CarRepairer wrote:2) Use fixed or random positions instead of choose-in-game.
And its not useful in team games.

Re: YES I'M READY
Okay let me go back and redefine the issue here. Jazacash is impatient and doesn't like readying. If he wants team games where people choose positions, it's unavoidable that they need a ready button to choose positions. So my point is Jazcash can't have his cake and eat it too. If he wants a fast start he can play in a game where people don't need to choose a spot. If he wants a team game, then people need to choose a spot and click on a ready button.SirMaverick wrote:I known that you are aware that some autohosts do not support that.CarRepairer wrote:2) Use fixed or random positions instead of choose-in-game.

Re: YES I'M READY
It would be cool if you could choose positions in the lobby, that would give us the best of both worlds.Gota wrote:you can do this by allowing people to select starting positions through the lobby.

The host can choose a pos for everyone.SinbadEV wrote:It would be cool if you could choose positions in the lobby, that would give us the best of both worlds.

Alright then, problem solved. Move along.koshi wrote:The host can choose a pos for everyone.SinbadEV wrote:It would be cool if you could choose positions in the lobby, that would give us the best of both worlds.
Re: YES I'M READY
What, we still haven't had anyone write up players choosing positions? It's entirely possible right now. Oh well.
Re: YES I'M READY
I don't mind hitting "ready" twice. Frequently I'll join a game, pick a spot to spawn, and some other guy will pick it almost at the exact same moment. Without a ready button, we'd spawn on top of each other and one of us would have to walk to the next metal spot.
And, by "one of us", I mean "the other guy", because I would just announce that I'm self-d'ing and wait for him to run away.

Re: YES I'M READY
Springlobby's "choose before game" start positions might be of use here. It might be interesting to extend that a bit and let individual players pick a spot.

Re: YES I'M READY
Oh this reminds me.
Can someone please disable the !ring command in autohosts if its an unbalanced situation (eg, 4v5 you can't ring. 5v5 you can ring).
Thanks.

Autohost owners can change those settings as they wish, petition them. Ringing in an unbalanced situation has its uses.

Re: YES I'M READY
quite often i'm standing outside my house having a cig watching my monitor through the window in ready mode to see if the game starts to load; i really do need that 10 seconds or so to run inside, take off my shoes and scamper downstairs.
