NTAI 0.25 + miscellaneous

Post by AF »

NTAI 0.25

I'd have released this in the NTAI thread but this is somewhat different as I'm having to package it with other binaries, some fo which people dont have.

I have 2 compiled versions of NTAI here. NTAIx.dll works with v0.65b2 only.
NTAI.dll works only with the supplied versions of spring.exe and the recently supplied version fo spring with S30 mdoel format support.

NTAI arguably runs better on the modified binaries.

The modified binaries also have the switch for ghosted buildings itnegrated into them, aswell as prioritized messages in the console. A modified settings.exe has been provided to change this. The code for the changes is at fileuniverse but has not been uploaded to the cvs yet.

Changes:

Metal palcement is mroe accurate
AI will scout properly now
AI will attack you rather than simply send units to an estimated enemy start position.
AI builds a better range of lvl 2 kbots
AI doesnt stall under the changes made in the interface anymore.

Download from file unvierse

A version of JCAI compatible with the modified version is available at the spring cvs but it obviously hasnt been playtested by zaphod yet as it crashes on load, therefore ti wasnt included in the package above. A version of ZcAIn wasnt available either.

Any bugs, post on the board at darkstars or email me, bu really it's supposed to be crashless.

(NTAIx.dll)

Seems ok to me so far, crashes on some maps (eg: River Dale), but I think the bug is know by you.

Multiple NTAI's in the same game are bugged, only one of them actually does anything.

Yes there seems to be those maps, some crash immediatly most noticable small divide, others crash when the AI tries to palce a building, which it relie son an engine callback for this.
This callback has been known to be buggy, cain has expeirmented with trying ti in multiplayer and seeing how ti changes.

A workaround is needed by both NTAI and ZcAIn to overcome this reliance. JCAI overcame this reliance in v0.1 but uses a method of building placement that I am not particularly fond off.

When trying to launch the newGUI it says:

- File guis/standard.tdf not found
- Section gamegiu is missing in file guis/standard.tdf
- File guis/Bindings.tdf not found
- Section gamegiu is missing in file guis/bindings.tdf

and after i pick script/map it crashes

Also with springcolours.exe it crashes all the time (runtime error)

I'll repackage tomorrow with JCAI 0.22 and ZcAIn.

the GUI folder can be found in all the other GUI progs that can be found at fileuniverse, it's only the programs that's changed.

And I dont knwo what's causing that crash for you but I can only guess at what it is, the code I added is minor, in some places only adding an if statement, nothing capable of crashing spring. Otherwise ti could be a problem with code added by the SY's to the cvs such as s30 format support etc, ro which I wouldnt know what.
