Autodestruct

Post by mildarf »

Some newb users want to use D-gun and in hard attack press Ctrl+D, comm explode with autodestruct. I think, change autodestruct action from Ctrl+D by default to Ctrl+Shift+Alt+D will be a good idea?

IMHO since ctrl IIRC isn't used for a lot of different combinations besides assigning categories, it's a fairly safe choice. If it was Shift+D, that would be something else though.

I do use Ctrl a lot, but remember that destruct commands do result in textual warning. I don't see this as a major problem but I do know some people have been fouled up by it.

It might be useful to include a widget that causes a sound to play while particular units are self-destructing, and perhaps a menu to pop up on the side of the screen with the important units self-destructing so you can toggle them off via interface if you aren't quick with hotkeys.

Why not have the little flashing skull icon appear permanently once a unit is on self-d, instead of showing it only in queue view?
