shouldnt it draw the transparent layer with same resolution as viewradius gives to me? so it wont drop the fps when its drawing the quads on the map with best possible resolution... i get 30 fps when i use minimap start boxes script, and without it 60fps

in side view you can see it actually draws the boxes on the terrain with best quality...

plus, to get more speed, shouldnt this be hardcoded into spring engine? (ofc possibility to override it with own scripts...)

still, it should be somewhat optimized a lot more than it is now.

Imo only the borders of the boxes should be drawn on just shown on the minimap.

yeah maybe, but not too thin borders...
