Nice design.
Only three(small) quibbles:
1. Don't model the hole for the barrels, unless this thing is HUGE.
2. There are no elbow joints, and the join there looks messy, with faces cutting each other like that.
3. He feels front-heavy and unbalanced. Shift the apparent center of mass backwards a bit.

Stuff I've been working on this week.
I finally decided to do something with the NanoBlobs models, at least the ones worth saving.
Sat down, came up with a "theme" for them, so that they can fit into P.U.R.E.'s loose universe (they're wolf-man genetically-engineered super-soldiers, but aren't human, so the Overmind didn't kill them, but they went feral, or something... details tbd, I haven't had time to seriously contemplate their backstory yet).
And yes, the name "wolfen" is provisional, that's a reference to a notable series of novels... and I probably need to come up with something else.
Anyhow, these guys and the various models I'm doing for the Space Chickens (which will be pretty much a complete, playable... and GPL... race in the next release of World Builder, with structures and everything) are coming down the pipe, and will be Open Source, so I thought I'd let people know that these resources will be available at some point.

Well, the spirerook skin was always good (sometimes simple is good), but the quadruped and the megasheep look much better.
Love 'em.
Plus, hopefully this kind of solid free content will get less whiners and guys begging for people to rip off non-free stuff.

I wasn't happy with the SpireRook. The legs were gimpy, the cone resisted various attempts to re-map it so it would distort less, yet be easy to paint... and I eventually settled on a redesign.
That's why it got changed so much. I have rebuilt it about 10 times over the last year or so- it was one of the things I was never truly satisfied with, despite being a fairly classic throwback to the Gernsback age. This was basically the last revision, where I decided to quit procrastinating and skin it. It took about 3 hours, and then another 2 hours to rebuild its script up to my current standards.
I haven't decided on the AutoFac. It's tempting, to just reskin, resize (most things are larger, to be in keeping with P.U.R.E.'s scale) and call it a day.
But... I'm tempted to give them a base that looks like some sort of dark-age semi-steampunk spacecraft instead, and use the AutoFac for something else- energy generation or a mine using some crazy FX.
I liked LordLemmi's giant buildings, and I'm wondering what will happen if I do something like that, but with preshading and wear and the rest of the obligatory bells and whistles.
And yeah, this is part of the whole World Builder initiative. I'm hoping that when I get done I'll have enough to present "my first game" stuff with.
Anyhow, enough talking here, I need to get back to work.

Argh, like your 'wolfen' units. One feature I liked especially were that orange-yellow "lamp" or "eye" a few of them had. Actually, all units but one is having some sort orange-yellow "eyes" or "windows". The exception is that half tracked unit with the tall cannon turret. Perhaps add that "lamp" to it as well for consistency?

I assume those effects are photoshoppery - they don't look real. Still, nice concepts you've got there. Do those glowy-reactors open/close?

Camera style will be a mix from starcraft and cnc , so not that far away, you will get a map overview function but you see than icons :)

LordLemmi, your deviation for OTA is most aesthetically pleasing, I am sure this work will actually get you somewhere rather than being dismissed.

btw i hate wings ! it autosaves all the time when i corrupted some parts and programm crashes so a highpoly model uv map got deleted :) yay 6 hours of work are gone.
