Play Spring on low-end (/netbook)

This thread is asking about low end laptops and netbooks. Otherside's laptop is double the cost of my netbook so it doesn't apply to this thread. Of course it runs spring.

lol bull, i also have laptop with 9600gt 512mb with ddr3 and faster cpu. it dosent get close to running spring on full. once shadows, and dynamic water goes on it strugles hard. Let alone with details on full.

i consider full or near full settings to be high unit detail and terrain level with good Lod and shadows + decals and i can run that np + bump water.

dynamic water is gimicky and uglier looking than bump water apart from the nice moving ripples the fps drain isnt worth it. And lol dynamic clouds

and who the hell plays with dynamic clouds rilly >_> even on my desktop which i run at max settings (bump not dynamic) i dont see the need to run dynamic clouds as its a stupid fps hog with no benefits

i already put that tip on the FAQ a few weeks ago. .. which made me think about the earlier asked question for a light version of spring. There would be multiple ways of doing this. One could be, having instructions on the wiki how to adjst the settings and what to look for, plus possibly instructions directly targeted at certain graphic cards/systems. An other thing would be a netbook targeted config template, or a netbook preset in springsettings.. plus instructions on the Wiki.
Most realistic thing would be something relying only on the Wiki, as then users can keep it up to date; spring devs would not do that.

So yeah.. it would be nice if one or a few of you could make a netbook settup guide on the wiki, and then link to it in the FAQ maybe.
The most basic thing coudl simply be copying a config file that works nice for you to a fresh page, and linking to the FAQ entry for the compressed textrues tip.
