[Problem] Update (manually) the Lobby / the spring engine

Post by albator »

Hello,

I am using Ubuntu 9.04, and I installed Spring 0.79.1

It worked and it still works

I also run Spring with windows XPSP1, and some days ago I had to install an update, the 0.79.2

The Question is : how to (manually) update spring engine (and also the lobby) on ubuntu. Cause I checked the available version of thespring engine (and also the lobby) (with Synaptic) and no new version are available.

My guess is :

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install spring

But I am afraid I can do some damage.

my version : lobby 0.0.1.10468 spring engine 0.79.1
current version : lobby 0.0.1.10475 spring engine 0.79.2

I have asked for the update to be published on the ubuntu repo in another thread.
Im using 8.10, not sure they did it for 9.04 tho.

Ask in the #springlobby chat when you are online.

You can go to the spring wiki page and watch for the instruction to compile it from the source too.
