Springlobby-> no browser works, tasclient crashes

So


spring started crashing with no stack trace....did a clean reinstall. Got SpringLobby with the new install. Now, whenever i launch SpringLobby my browser(s) stop working, just "connecting to xxx.yyy.zzz..." and times out (dns?). Upon closing SpringLobby there's still a process springlobby.exe running which i can't manually close with the task manager in XP. Need to restart computer for browsing the web again. Spring itself works fine.

Downloaded TASClient again from spring.jobjol (tried all the versions on jobjol) but now it just crashes at all loads (can't get to the main tasclient window) about where it says "loading forms..."

what to do? i kinda wanna play spring, but its damn stupid having to reboot the computer after every lobby access....also springlobby has no way to count the playernumber in battleroom?!

Try this...

Search your drives for "springlobby.conf", "springsettings.conf", and "archivecachev7.lua". Delete all instances and pay attention to the folders where they get placed for future reference. For TASClient the settings are in the registry so you'll have to open regedit.exe (from the command prompt or from Run). Hopefully you know how to delete the TASClient keys in there without touching anything else. The latest TASClient version I've seen on joblol is not the most recent. Once you have it working it should be able to update itself to at least 0.48 if I recall.

Which client version are you using?

Also if you have problems using the internet at all while SpringLobby is running you should perhaps stop it from loading the torrent system on startup.

for me, it freezes when its loading a certain map. note that the map isn't new, it's old, and this happens every time. it used to work, but ever since... I think two days ago, it stopped working.
