nah, Do it as a balance change, for 1 release. what can that hurt?

Just so its a forced part of the game, if it doesn't work out after getting a good run in the regular day to day public games, then release a patch a day later and call it good.

If you don't force an option like that, nobody will manually set it up then noboby will ever know if its good or not.

Let's try including morphing, and jumping units, and and and mex overdrive, just for one version!!1 It is a great idea in my opinion so it must be a great idea!

You'd still have commbombing on smaller maps. The comm has feet. Remember when commbombing was the preferred tactic on Altored?

There's already options to discourage combombing (kill all commanders) and prevent it (com ends).

It might be cool to have an AA2.23 hover commanders type modoption however which would do all of the above and not be overly desirable.

Adding CA-style commanders (no dgun, cheap wreck, no commboom) as a modoption would probably be enough, rather than switching to a whole new unit.

Hey, it was TheFat who was talking about Hovercomms as a modoption - my point was that the CA-style comms would be easier to implement than bringing back the hovercomms.

But either wya, the modoptions list is cluttered-enough as it is.

I would enjoy a no com corpse modoption, if I ever could ever get a team game with it enabled.

If you want sissy gameplay for your newbie needs, go play XTA or CA, they offer just the thing.

This sissy sees some positive aspects in BA gameplay, one of the things that detracts significantly from me enjoying my noobish fumbling about is the terrible slippery slope in team games, when my ally of vastly superior skill to myself dies to some nooby player making lots of units instead of porcing like he should, and this noob then goes on to make *even more* units with the reclaimed metal, generally ending the game very quickly.

I would much prefer my SpeedMetal and DSDrevXXXTREME 8v8s to be no com corpse and kill all coms= game ends.

I appreciate that even having it included as a mod option is incredibly insulting to elite pro's such as Regret, and I am sorry to have even proposed that we clutter up that gui, on that tab that you most likely never look at.

If you want to stop comm bombing just make the commanders invincible

All coms end/no wreck encourages tactical combombing, in the sense that it is a powerful move, but reduces your team's "lives".

I don't have any problem whatsoever with com drop/bombing, I've just seen too many team games go to shit when 1 player throws away his com, and an average or above player gets hold of the wreck.

if this change was made i kind of wonder if any of the people who play 8v8 would actually change their "tactics" at all

Remove the commanders!
Ok Regret would then actually have to learn how to play BA, but apart from that....
