I used to get decent FPS (like 30-40) on the previous version of spring and now [when I build anything], my fps drops to like 5-10. I'm on a Macbook pro bootcamped into Windows XP, and have a Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz, Nvidia 8600M GT. I've turned ALL of my graphical settings down, and i've read the other thread on this, but for the love of me cannot make out a solution from there. I've been looking at http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=14717 , but this seems to be an old fix and I didn't need it last patch. Can anybody reccomend anything to me?
Another note: When installing the new version of spring, it was telling me that It couldn't open some .dll, MSVCR71.dll . I ignored it, and the game *appears* to work fully (except for this framerate issue making it unplayable). I'm going to go restart and see if this fixes the issue, but can anybody walk me through this? I've been playing with a few friends for the past week and was having fun, but this ruins it D:

Should add that with the hotfix my FPS jumps back to 60fps RIGHT after construction finishes. This leads me to belive that there's something with the nano textures or something? Is there a way to disable them?

Actually, uhh, my FPS fluctuates now, independantly of something building or not. Ugh, is there anything documented about this at least so I can play the *next* release of spring?staplefish wrote:Should add that with the hotfix my FPS jumps back to 60fps RIGHT after construction finishes. How is Bootcamp handling your graphics card? With that card you should have been getting much better FPS in the past, and with this version of Spring I've generally seen a 40% increase in FPS.

Re: Horrible, Terrible FPS...
Well, I assume it was at around 30 because i had fps manager widget on which tries to keep fps at around 30. In other games (combat arms, Tribes 2, Legions, Oblivion, Fallout 3, even Crysis runs at 30ish) I get 60+ fps. Is there a way to toggle the font rendering or w/e was added, because I hear that that might be an issue affecting me.neddiedrow wrote:How is Bootcamp handling your graphics card? Re: Horrible, Terrible FPS...
I messed around some more in springsettings, and turned off teamcolor nanospray, which appeared to fix the issue in one mod (hardcore annihilation), but not another (balanced annihilation). Am I at least on the right track? I've never had issues with this before.
Re: Horrible, Terrible FPS...
i personally have not seen any change in fps, however i did notice that cpu usage is generally up for players in my games
