My philosophy, that was understood as "childish", is to respect the rights and opinions of others, is to mantain good levels of colaboration in a community, as cited in examples that not were "childish", and the stuff NOT is the more important part here, but the care with the others.vampi3 wrote:I think some model creators overeact and just use that for, well, "look angry". Saying "no" is often the only power some peoples have.
Why i say that ? Well, i often see peoples using, without asking permission, works from others crying when others do the same thing with them. I play and even mod since, what, around 20 years now and i'm sometimes sick of alls that.
A mod is just a mod. I, for my part, don't go nuts when someone take some part of one of my free work for another mod.
Sure, i can hit really hard if someone use one of my work, free or not, for a paying work, an advertisement, etc., but i never sued someone for taking one of my BASIC coding, or one of the third party units i done, twelve years ago for Dark Reign and put it in a mod.
I just ask for a good place in the credits, even kick the modder ass if he don't do it in the first place, but i never asked for removal.
It's not philosophy, it's childish.
Sorry for being long, but i think i don't really like the "don't even LOOK at my work" i see in a lot of 3th party for some games more and more often since 10 years.

UU makes it damned easy to find the original creators of the units, since they have it in the unit listing. from there a quick tour of TAU and/or Google will *usually* give you a way to contact the initial designer. If you really cannot get in contact with the creator, make special note of it, and ask the creators to contact you in private (email/pm/whatever) so you get to avoid threads like this one.Otherside wrote:This is the reason why using models from UU without at least crediting, and making a proper effort to contact the original creators is not a good idea

Umm, you do know that your shellshocker/vanguard has been included in every single major Spring mod since Caydr plonked it into AA, right?Snooky wrote:The main issue is to respect the unique properties of current / ongoing mods. If we had abandoned TA:ESC ages ago that would be one thing, but we're still very active and in the process of of putting out our first official release. We'd really like the opportunity to perfect our stuff and let the community appreciate our efforts in doing so
