You just got to sit around, work happens in bursts randomly. I think everything's been on pause for a few days while people are handling other stuff. Hopefully it will all pick back up again soon.SerjnDestroy wrote:I'd be glad if you did :) .. Popped on the irc channel yesterday night, didn't seem like anyone was awake.
I'm not really a fan of mailing lists, but I'll try it out in this case

I think it is a good idea to implement it in parallel. This way Glou can grow and learn from mistakes without interrupting the players :) .imbaczek wrote:spring is pretty much protocol-agnostic; we only need the host to get the script to clients. how it's done is not the engine's concern. it'd be great to see a spring glou/concordance lobby infrastructure, but it can be done as a proof of concept in parallel to what we have now.

This is solvable in much the same way that code integrity is - by using digital signatures and recognizing certain providers as authoritative about things (like high scores).
I also think by now we solved some problems of a decentralized system with our revised architecture:

Just wanted to point out that the project is healthy and alive :) .el_matarife wrote:SerjnDestroy wrote: ...

If anyone wants to know what's going on with the project, watch recent changes on the Glou wiki and check the mailing list archive. Pretty easy to follow everything that way with minimal effort.Noya wrote:Just wanted to point out that the project is healthy and alive :) .

Hey guys, I am new to this forum -- but not new to TA or TA-spring. I'm also linked into the gaming industry from a technology perspective (software/hosting). May I recommend that you adopt Sun's open source Gaming Server for this task. Its code-named Project Darkstar and it is being evaluated by a number of top developer/publisher houses. It made its debut in 2005 at GDC.
It is free and it basically handles the "socket layer" (or basically the network stack) as well as the cross platform issues right out of the box.

I am also a proponent of possibly using this to facilitate Spring itself.

Polaris
