New Map: Escarpment-v2

Hello,

Here's new map!
Escarpment version 2 with features
12x16
Escarpment-v2 made by SirArtturi. Optimal for 6 to 10 players. Features by smoth and LathanStanley.

It's quite pretty, but im not sure about the gameplay...
Give ur opinion!

That is really awesome. Nice work. Right up there with hunterw and Forb, in terms of combining form with function. Gorgeous texture, nice use of color. Feels like a living place.

I really like the look of this map, but have yet to play it.

Comments:
- What are the little green squares on the ground? Are those meant to be farmland or something along those lines?
- some features would add a lot of life to this map... >_>

Yeah, I wish it was PD or GPL, I'd do a World Builder version in a heartbeat.

i really like the texture other than the farms.


gameplay wise, looks like it will be pretty porcy. that means its a possible hit :wink:

My maps are freely modifiable with my permission. Just tell me what you are going to do with it and most likely, I will give you my blessing...

Whatsoever, I'm planning to do next version with tree, bush and rock features.
Any other suggestions ?

I'd probably drop the farms, they don't really add anything to the map, I think. Without supporting features like farmhouses and so on, they don't really make much sense.

Me too. Those look like the exact same farms I used in the map EU1. I don't even remember where I got them but I'm almost positive those are the same ones. It's great finding textures on the web.

I don't think the scale of the farms works though - at that scale, a Peewee should be an entire city block, and a very big one at that. I don't think there is any spring mod that's even within an order of magnitude or two of that scale. Trees would be little green specks on the ground.

Otherwise, though, it looks fantastic.

Great dynamic layout, very good texture, and well matched features.
I just dont like the fields, they look too off scale :(

most people (or thats my understanding) think you should take out the farms, but why not just add some farmhouses or something? so that this idea isn't wasted...

and maybe some rocks at the base of the hills to show rock slides/ erosion

Map looks great, keep the farms, add ways and scorched, burned spots were villages or farmbuildings stood...

PS: I will operate BaNa next Monday, doin┬┤t spoil the Surprise, but don┬┤t expect any Wonders, i can`t work miracles you know.

Igor, is the Uterostransplant ready? Fine, on Ice, exactly... ;)
Oh, any last adds/changes? You can have him duogendered, no need to waste existing spairparts- but make sure he is not cheating on you, with himself, we all know BaNa ;)
