Invisible Mods

Post by Bouncl »

Hey, I'd like to go ahead and thank everyone who might, or does help with this problem.

I downloaded spring because I played it a while ago, and I remembered how amazing it was. However, when downloading, I noticed that there were no mods included in the download. So I went online, and downloaded NOTA, BA, and Spring 1944.

I figured I would play single player, and try to get the hang of the game again. But when I clicked on "mods" to play single player, only 1944 was listed, and this would crash as soon as I placed my starting point.

So I un-installed, and re-installed several times. All with the same problem. I just did another un-install and re-install, this time without 1944, instead going with BA and NOTA. However, it still shows up in the "Choose a mod" page. And none of the others do.

Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

BA http://spring.jobjol.nl/show_file.php?id=1978
Download and place this file into spring/mods. Should work then.

I've tried, several times. When I use Chrome, it automatically installs them in C:\Program Files\Spring\Mods. But when I check, the only file there is Spring 1944 which no longer exists. And when I try to use IE, it says "Cannot move file:Permission denied."

Do you happen to be using Windows? I used to have a bug that when it saved them to the particular folder, it created a virtual folder. Had no idea why it didn't or how to stop it but it just randomly decided to disappear one day.

In Vista there's a small button and the top named 'Compatibility Files/Folders' or whatever. If that button isn't there then I can't help you, sorry :< If it is there, you'll find you hidden shit in there, move it from there back to the folder it should be.

Did you try saving the file manually and not with ArchiveMover and then placing it in spring/mods manually?

I think my problem was the archive mover. I stopped using it for a while cause of this bug but then when I started using it again, it was fine.

Thanks, I'm using Vista. I can't seem to find the button though, could you be more specific as to the location?

If this is your problem, it the button will be there. If it's not your problem, the button won't be there.

Thank you!

For future reference, the button is called "Compatibility Files" :-)
