Re: X3 terran conflict
The fastest way to earn $$$ is to capture enemy ships.
Keep the shields at minimum and shoot at it until the pilot gives up.
Then sell the ship at the nearest shipyard

Re: X3 terran conflict
cool thanks..
By the way..is there a way to join up with other small vessels and pirate?is there a mod to enable that?
Seems liek this is missing...kinda silly several small ships cant work together as a band to kick the ass of bigger ships for loot..

Re: X3 terran conflict
Doubt that you can join up with other NPC's, but you can use your ships on autopilot to attack others, you just need fight command software installed and some guns

Re: X3 terran conflict
Yeah but i need new ships first
Re: X3 terran conflict
LOL, X3 learning curve is fucking hilariously badass.
Basically you have to be a pirate for the first while to survive. Seriously, some ships you'll capture will always bring more than like 100k. Then you get a universal trader for like 1.5 million and that guy basically runs around the galaxy trading stuff and he'll net you like a few hundred K to a million an hour,.
But to start you want to raid LIGHT pirate parties. Dont fucking go against pirates whose anti-ship is one of those high military class vessels. You will die in seconds. If you see a dueo of pirates using your own spacecraft, thats a wonderful oppertunity. Then try and steal some frieghters, those ships bring in the big bucks from their cargo and the ship itself.
But the main thing to remember is that, deep in pirate space; you have to escort anything you capture. And it is dangerous. Theres been many times where the thing i captured was destroyed becuase i was way to deep into pirate space.

Re: X3 terran conflict
The easiest way to earn fast money is to look up the chart of abandoned ships, then get all of them one by one, THEN start raiding Xenon sector for M3+. Mass a large group of M3+ from either the Xenon sector or buy it from Terran sectors if you have access, and go out there and take whatever you want.
Edit: Oh, Xenon assault missions were also very fun in X3, not sure how they play out in TC, but they're a double win since they're (usually) easy money if you have a decent fighter, AND they quickly rank you with whichever race you're fighting for, allowing you to get equipment access rapidly.
Edit2: Here's a Xenon sector raiding tip: wait around the Xenon border gates, either in the Xenon sector or in the friendly space, then wait for the class of ship you want to arrive. Have that ship follow you into friendly space, while eliminating the other ships that you don't want in the process.
Edit3: General capturing tip: Any way you can, get PBEs. To do this, you'll need to either earn enough cash and rank high enough to buy it from various factories. PBEs burn through shields like nothing, and they do low amounts of hull damage. That's exactly what you'd want for capturing ships.
However, you shouldn't wait for them before you start capturing. Use IREs before you get them.
Speaking of which, you just reminded me that I need to start playing again. So I'll probably quit Spring for the next month or 2.

Re: X3 terran conflict
Do missions. If you have enough prestige, assassination missions net you like 10 million for 2 minutes work. At start take patrol missions etc. (maybe even khaak campaign or other storylines) where you need to kill masses of enemies - you get combat notoriety faster.
Especially terran story gives you some pretty kick-ass ships for free (vali and some m3+ iirc) - a great way to start. You can kill pretty much anything below destroyer with those. Maybe even destroyers if you are patient.

Yep, ass missions are awesome. I always used an M3+ with PBEs.Teutooni wrote:Do missions. If you have enough prestige, assassination missions net you like 10 million for 2 minutes work. Re: X3 terran conflict
Don't know about Terran Conflict, but in regular X3 the Paranid Hyperion was the best personal ship in the game, just place some Gamma PSG's and you can destroy everything even M2's
and to get it you just needed to complete some missions... I hope this ship is available in X3:TC too

Re: X3 terran conflict
In TC every race has M7 and M7+ classes, so hyperion is pretty obsolete. I'm not even sure if it's in the game anymore. Best ship imo is split light carrier (panther iirc). Handles like an M3, though as a destroyer and can hold shitloads of fighters. A bit weak weaponry, but that's where the swarm of ATF M3+ fighters come in. An awesome command ship.
