Re: unitsync.so problem
I use opensuse 11.1.
I did it by installing the game with yast and adding maps and mods manually in /home/myname/.spring
I changed the location of spring program from /usr/games/spring to home/myname/.spring
I set the spring lobby to lauch the game from /home/myname/.spring
I tried to lauch the game from the lobby by clicking ""start"" in the single player menu after proper configuration ( adding bots and chosing personal preference) and nothing happens after ( no error message.)
When i go in option it say that i don't have unitsync.so missing
so i searched the whole /home but i haven't seen anythings.
I tried to search it with kde's search program but doesn't have anythings related to.
I don't have the file, where can I get it?

Re: unitsync.so problem
Your unitsync.so isn't in your home folder. It's in either lib or usr, I don't remember which. The "autodetect" button in SpringLobby's Options tab may find it for you.

Re: unitsync.so problem
the reason we did not just give you unitsync.so is, that if you are missing it, something went really wrong on your side, and you will likely miss other files or other things may be wrong.
first thing, as you are new to linux:
in windows, when you install a game or other software, you have it under C:/Program Files/Spring eg, and maybe some configuration somewhere in a subfolder under My Files (or what it's called). In linux, as yo umay mentioned, things are usually more wide spread. one software is not installed in one folder, but has its different parts in subfolders in different parts of the filesystem.
you should not try to change this to what yo uare used from windows. i know it can be hard in the beginning, as it seems to be a mess, but in the longer run, you go better accepting it, plus.. you dont want to convert your linux to a windows, and the linux guys did put some though into this
in short, you should try to uninstall and remove everythign of spring, and then do a fresh install, and leave it as it is.
the main parts of hte game will end up under /usr/share/games/spring, as you had it, and if you have to add maps, put them under /home/myname/.spring/maps and mods under /home/myname/.spring/mods. this is not problem, spring will find them there, no matter where the executable lies or where it is started from.
also, it is possible that the file is called libunitsync.so, not unitsync.so.

So now I think it's the last things that is missing what can I do?

Re: unitsync.so problem
you are probably missing otacontent (though not all mods need it)
http://www.darkstars.co.uk/downloads/vi ... ontent.sdz
(contents have to end up in spring/base/)
try different mods, and if it all does not help, post the infolog.txt through http://www.pastebin.com

Re: unitsync.so problem
the problem is actually springcontent.sdz not being found by spring itself
yes that file as much as unitsync.so should come with spring itself, so the question is: how did you install for having 2 necessary files not being installed correctly?
