*Hot-Fix* graphics corruption and/or multi-core (ALL Nvidia)
In the following conversation you will notice solutions to a few problems. Such as trees not showing up properly, and also when the rendering goes wack like a duck. Also dual core.
Valid for all Nvidia® related products.
[11:26:13 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> yes
[11:26:23 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> go in options and change from 16 bit z buffer to 24 bit
[11:26:35 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> and turn texture filtering off of performance
[11:26:50 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> set it to quality
[11:27:19 AM] <ISOAPINA> it is 24 bits already O_o
[11:27:35 AM] <ISOAPINA> oke i check that texture filtering stuff
[11:28:44 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> ok i'm not talking about spring options, but rather nvidia control panel options
[11:29:09 AM] <ISOAPINA> ah ok
[11:29:23 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> mine did the same thing when i used omega drivers
[11:29:42 AM] <ISOAPINA> i just checked spring options and was confused coz there were no sing of texture filtering settings
[11:29:45 AM] <ISOAPINA> ok
[11:29:48 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> the only work around i could find was setting texture performance to quality, and trees wouldnt show up so i have to use 24 bit buffer
[11:30:35 AM] <ISOAPINA> ok yeh i had trees dissappearing too with my own pc when i had 16 bits
[11:31:26 AM] <ISOAPINA> im going to try changing texture filttering settings and see if it helps
[11:32:31 AM] <ISOAPINA> hmmm it is set to Quality...
[11:32:38 AM] <ISOAPINA> should i set it to High quality
[11:32:48 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> yeah try it
[11:35:36 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> what kinda graphics card are you using
[11:38:38 AM] <ISOAPINA> he has GF 7900GT
[11:39:00 AM] <ISOAPINA> he has same problem with call of duty 1
[11:39:12 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> http://www.nhancer.com
[11:39:25 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> use that to tweak out settings on the fly
[11:39:37 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> much more efficient then control panel
[11:40:33 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> if you have dual core, you can create a seperate driver profile via nhancer, and set spring to use both cores
[11:41:07 AM] <ISOAPINA> O_O
[11:41:09 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> i can show you how i have my settings
[11:47:48 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> https://shdwstar.sslpowered.com/taspring.nhprofile
[11:48:00 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> you can inmport that file ^ directly with nhancer
[11:48:11 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> they are the settings i use
[11:50:21 AM] <ISOAPINA> oki
[11:54:00 AM] <ISOAPINA> so if my case is same than yours its fixed with this file?
[11:54:42 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> theoretically yes
[11:55:01 AM] <ISOAPINA> then i must already thank you
[11:55:16 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> but your card is much stronger then mine,
[11:55:38 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> so you should still experiment with it's options and find what works best for you.
[11:55:45 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> :)
[11:56:46 AM] <ISOAPINA> yea but thanks for all that help :)
[11:57:19 AM] <[SiG]Shadowstar[666]> no problem i hope we get it going! need more spring players :D
[11:57:24 AM] <ISOAPINA> would never have got anywhere with knowledge i had about thiskind of stuff
[11:57:32 AM] <ISOAPINA> hehe :)
[11:57:48 AM] <ISOAPINA> i already advertised this game to 10 of my m8s and hope thay do so too

Re: *Hot-Fix* graphics corruption and/or multi-core (ALL Nvidia)
Thought it was common knowledge that Multi Core needs to be disabled in the driver due to performance issues.
Re: *Hot-Fix* graphics corruption and/or multi-core (ALL Nvidia)
i'm heard many success stories with using multicore via this method of override
Re: *Hot-Fix* graphics corruption and/or multi-core (ALL Nvidia)
I tried your nenhancer profile and it fucked up my FPS.
I went back to my nvidia panel profile (threaded opti off, single display opti, quality texture, some aniso filtering) and everything ran fine back.

Re: *Hot-Fix* graphics corruption and/or multi-core (ALL Nvidia)
Here's the wierd thing...
I recently upgraded to a dual core athlonx2 6000, along with some sweet ocz memory (2gig, dual channel) and a beautiful Gigabyte Mobo (I <3 nforce chipsets), vid card stayed the same (7600gtx).
Now for the weirdness. The gigabyte board forced me to go to vista because of lack of drivers for xp. I opted for 64bit ultimate.
I have yet to have any problem with any game, including spring. My fps in spring doubled after I went up, and magically so did my fps in BF2142. Atm in BF2142 I have all settings running on maximum (except anti aliasing which is on 2x).
What's the deal. I've never been happier with a new OS in my entire life. Runs smooth as shit and I have yet to encounter a single problem. I can even run 16bit stuff (wordperfect 5.1) natively which is jsut wierd.
I suppose I should just shut up and be happy, but I would like to know why.
Edit: I figured I should note, I changed absolutely no settings after the vid drivers were installed (latest from guru3d).

Re: *Hot-Fix* graphics corruption and/or multi-core (ALL Nvidia)
Well, you really should install all the Windows hotfixes for dual core CPUs and any relevant drivers. AMD's X2 series had known issues with Windows XP where the CPU timer got all screwy and caused all kinds of issues. AMD has a driver fix out on their website somewhere, and there's also several Windows XP hotfixes covering issues on AMD and Intel processors. You may not need them if you install Windows XP SP3.
Anyway, I also personally believe it is a good idea to turn off multithreaded optimization in nVidia's drivers, but it may actually help some people.

I'm on vista 64bit...
Re: *Hot-Fix* graphics corruption and/or multi-core (ALL Nvidia)
I don't have threaded optimization in my settings for my video card. I have a pentium D which is basically 2 pentium 4's stuck together, they don't function like the core2duo, but work good for everything I do. In order to get reasonable fps in spring constantly 60fps, I have to set Springlobby.exe to core 0. I'm going to try your tips when I get home hopefully to fix my water issues if that's what this will do.

Re: *Hot-Fix* graphics corruption and/or multi-core (ALL Nvidia)
ive got a big problem: Since the newest lobby update i the ingame screen freezes arround the 15th minute. It happens in every game with every map and every mod. I tried to use only 1 core of my cpu in stead of 2 cores, but that didnt work either.
My specs:
nvidia go 7900gtx 256mb Gddr3 ram
2gb ddr2 667mhz ram
1.83 coreduo (T2400)
Its a notebook
Plz dont say notebooks arent supported because i havent had hardly any crashes at all till now and i play this game about 2 years now.
EDIT: its fixed i think. I used the nhancher program and now everything seems to work fine.

Re: *Hot-Fix* graphics corruption and/or multi-core (ALL Nvidia)
what settings did u use in nhancer to get rid of the freezes?
Re: *Hot-Fix* graphics corruption and/or multi-core (ALL Nvidia)
I got problems with a non-dual core computer but with NVIDIA (GeForce FX 5200). Its that bug where you get a freaking high lag even before the game starts on some maps, but it also happens in maps I had already played normally on before, and the computer has not changed. I tried the solutions on this thread but none worked. Any suggestions? :)

Re: *Hot-Fix* graphics corruption and/or multi-core (ALL Nvidia)
Has someone seen the "free fall" of FPS just when a plasma deflector has been built in game?
Re: *Hot-Fix* graphics corruption and/or multi-core (ALL Nvidia)
I've noticed that cloaked things in-game practically halve my FPS on their own. Nothing else in-game for me causes such a massive loss of FPS. I'm using a Geforce 8800GT. Also in extremely intense firefights, my GUI disappears for a split second, but that's a minor concern for me. Other than that, i've had no problems on my system, even though I have dual cores.
