Do I even dare to enter the fray?

Or is this about the spring site and only the spring site?

summary:

zwzsg enters the thread
zwzsg denounces proposal A
zwzsg suggestes another proposal
zwzsg suggests plan B
plan B's most obvious implementation is... proposal A.

Is it me or did zwzsg both suggest the same idea, and veto it in the same post? =s

Instead of bashing *A mods, go help promoting non *A mods.

Instead of alienating current player base, go fetch new player base.

Instead of lobbying about forbidding news about *A mods, go post some news about a non *A mods (and not necessarly on Spring websites).

What's so confusing about that?

it wouldnt exactly be alienating *A mods since they never had this avenue of advertisement before so they wouldnt be losing anything

it would just give a push to mods/games which are original (they need it)

yeah it was crystal fucking clear, I quoted it just because I wanted people to focus on that and not get lost when you didn't post the same old crap that others want to see.

I think you are right, we should focus our efforts on positive things like building up new sub communities instead of trying to ripp up other communities and use what little users we keep to build a new one.

Like a castle. you ripp it apart to build a new one and the new one is smaller because you lost piece in the process. instead a new castle should be built it is more work but in the end we would have 2 whole castles.

We'll see what happens in the future with TA based projects. If we decide we have to banish TA content, then we'll banish it from the community news as well.

Other than that, we assume that "IP infringing content" is fan art until either the maintainer of that content or a legal authority says otherwise. Spring will promote work done for the engine when it's asked to as long as it's in accordance with our community policies, that's the bottom line.

The engine isn't responsible for the content it runs, the content developers are.
