me and my friend are having probs with the latest version.
when we try to build a barracks it freezes the game X_X. we have uninstalled spring manytimes trying to get it to work.
samething for the latest taff but with the first spaceplant.
but if we use the older cxx file for taff everything is cool X_X.
note we take out the cxx fiels when we were trying the newer ones =D
whats wrong ??

I'm also having problems, however my problem is that when I start up the mod I get the error: "To many/large unit textures to fit in 2048*2048"
I'm not sure quite how many I get of these probably one for every texture or something. But it's enough to deter me from spending the time to click them all off so I can load the mod.
I'm using .65b1 (Latest) and the version of WD that's on File Universe.. Pretty sure it's the same link listed above.
Suggestions? Or is there another version of WD that's not broken? If so, I'd like a link please.

2048x2048 texture space is ATI's max. I believe it hasn't changed yet. Where as newer Nivdia cards(such as GF 6, 7 and 5) support 8035x8035(in that range) texture space. I don't remember where I found this, but it was obscure.
GZ that may be an issue that your card supports more, so it doesn't give you an error, but when you upload it for the community, a fair amount of them don't have new enough cards, or have ATI cards, so they get an error.
Sorry guys, but if you want the best most reliable card that doesn't require game setting patches to work, DON'T BUY ATI CARDS! Get yourself an Nivdia card, and save yourself tons of grief.

Okay... GeForce 6600 GT, Athlon XP 2000+, 1.6 gighertz, and 1 gig RAM...could you give me some of your system stats? I got a Geforce FX5700, Athlon XP 2200+ 1.8gigahertz.
THe game evendually loads.. it's just I really don't want to spend a half hour tapping space bar to make it get there.
If your system can run it, I'm reasonably sure mine should too. As it handels Spring at max settings just fine and at 1280x1024, under any other mod.
Should I list what version of WD I'm using?

I really really really really really really doubt that validity of that... Some of the recent FPS use textures far larger then that for thier unit maps, and ATI's render them just as well if not better then Nvidia cards in the same catagory. Plus if you're using and FX series card saying it supports 8035x8035 textures is like asking a person to write a 20000 word essay in 12 point font with one sheet of paper. It might be a designed maximum, but there is no way a card that powerful will be able to apply it in any real gaming setting.TA 3D wrote:2048x2048 texture space is ATI's max. I'm using: springwdb4.sd7, and I got it yesterday.. Or.. Maybe it was like two days ago. Point is, is it's not that old.
Don't ask me if I've had any prior problems with WD, because I've never played it before, I just thought I'd get a look at this mod I've been seeing references to for the past little while.
And yeah, I quoted the error first error message to you word for word. Even case for case.
I'm not sure what it's problem is. I don't suppose it's angry that I've got Spring's details setup to maximum? All checks, checked (except the mice one. And the simplified minimap one.) I tried dropping the shadow detail because that was the first identical number I could think of and thought there might be an off chance of it being what the game was wanting. It wasn't.
<Ah.... Yes that explains it!>
Alright I know what's wrong. I know I'm going to get it for saying this but, I had a bunch of extra units in. And not having ever played WD before I wasn't aware that it (unlike my other mods) WD doesn't like any other units... Ok... I've got it working.. Please control your obvious laughter. (I did no research on this Mod so I didn't know it would behave differently than any of the others, which all accept my alternate units.)
