I've stopped all my autohosts because we are currently using a lobby server in LAN mode. So anyone can take the name he wants and take control of any autohost.
I've just restarted the Evolution RTS autohost anyway, but I removed all privilegied accounts temporarily...

the server changed... and the autohost didnt come to the new server or something.
Its back up now, but im sure you know that.

edit.
can you use a password of some sort to authenticate users?

Yes it's possible, but I guess we won't run in LAN mode very long, so does it worth it ?

Oh ok, sorry, I hadn't really caught up on things yet. Instead of asking questions that have been answered concerning the spring server in lan mode, I'll go maek lookie.

This is unrelated, but I'll be adding a server status icon thingy to springinfo soon showing the status of the various spring servers... That's assuming I can get this thing to work right :-)

Finally we are still using a lobby server in LAN mode, and it seems some users really like to impersonate autohost admins to annoy players... So I implemented autohost level authentication.
If you want to have a working privileged account when lobby server is in LAN mode, send me a password by pm.
You will have to authenticate yourself with "!auth <password>" to use your rights (only when the lobby server is running in LAN mode).

This release is fairly major. The side specific defenses have diverged a bit. Two new units, some balance fixes, some new sounds, all kinds of good stuff! Get it while it's hot!

Full base update this time. A few gameplay changes, some of them somewhat major. A big advantage with this version is the fact that now evolution is completely and fully compatible with the mission editor.

CA actually has an RSS feed, among other forms of syndication.
My last post was just a joke.

As to copying, that's the culture of this community. CA made most of the lua in BA, along with chicken defense, deployment, and lots of other things. We done BAAAWWW when others use our stuff. :P

I wouldnt really know, im new here... Although it might be nice if you got sent emails when someone attacked one of your mex's, that way if your tabbed out you can still be warned of attacks :mrgreen:
