Interesting little error which doesn't like me.

Post by SFU2236 »

Alright, I have a Radeon ATI 9200

I've installed the new version of spring correctly, and I get the following error:

"The requested fullscreen mode is not supported by youre video card. Use windows mode instead?"

If I click "No", it closes. If I click "Yes", it opens in windows mode, and the game is retartedly small. Not only that, I lost mouse scrolling.

In short, the game has become extremely inconvenient to me, which is what caught my eye in the first place. How can I fix, or do I need to go grab a different video card?

If you could run a previous version in full screen, perhaps you need to change the refreshrate in settings.

Could you be a bit more descriptive?

Settings for the TA Spring, as in the page located in the battle room under "options" - programs - game settings?

Unless I'm blind, I don't see anything about refreshrate.

Otherwise, do you wan't me to make it higher or lower? I'm assuming you're talking about refreshrate for my computer, not the game.

Anyways, yes I could use full screen before this version. What could have changed that, anyways?

Let's see.. I was talking about settings.exe which you can find under the ta spring start menu entry. I guess the setting isn't actually called refreshrate though, sorry. :)

My guess it that it was trying to use something your graphics card/drivers/monitor doesn't like. If it is 0 it should work as the previous versions though. But you can try values such as 60 and 85 and see if it helps.

Apparently, neither settings worked.

Hate to post ahead of time, but I'm still playing around with various stuff in that menu.

Do I need to do anything fancy, like reconnect to the battleroom after I change the setting? Or should I just keep making the frequency higher and higher untill it works... or something?

suggestion... I would suggest you set your monitor to 1024x768, and then set the game to run at 1024x768... and try again... I've had issues using a different game resolution than my screen resolution... again... use that settings program in the TASpring directory...
