hi there, first this game (spring) rock totally.
i fall in spring about 2 week ago --> true, i'm very used to rts and opensource (my first was netherearth in zxspeccy 48k .. :D) <-- and i find a love of my youngest year (gundam :D), whoa.. this rob me about 2 nights of sleep,
and my wife patience was near to end now :DD
so, this is your fault (eheh) not mine i just love to play ehehe , ok trying to stay serius, i read that all is customizable, but reading the gundam license the (very well skilled) author don't give permission to manipulate it.. i mean, is possible that none notice that an ammo limit to the gundam bot was the perfect way (at least in my newbie opinion) to give
the game the real appeal of zaku vs mobile suit war..
and there is the question
-someone tweaked the lua to give limited ammo?
-is possible to do it (ammo limited)?
-how damn can i refuel the flight zaku ?? (build the refuel place, but none want to use it :DD)

Spring is the engine and Gundam is the game. Smoth decides if Gundam is modded.

are:
- someone have already thought that an ammo system in gundam spring
can work well?
- someone have already done it?
- is it possible to do it? and if yes.. how and where we need to do the trick?
today i play a little match versus a bot, and using an Ez8 escorted by
2 fast assault i drive havok inside enemy line, falling back to repairing
him and returning again in second wave, third wave, fourth wave until
i see that the enemy (bot.. i repeat, probably this wont work versus
human, or at least probably a newbie like me can have problem, but
i think that experience resolve this..but i've not the experience to solve it for sure, at least now :D) is doomed to fall.. (fight versus
the comm the last 2 times and almost destroy it with him hittin me
just 1 time..) i stop it and think that an ammo system will be a real
good thing..
how can be done ? i really like this game.. seeing zaku and mobile suit

Maybe just walking and running require energy? if so this can be
real fun (or maybe, better have a stock of energy and when depleted
the beam weapon are gone, need to restock energy at base?)
for the "bullet" or "rocket" weapon, if i remember well my lost memories, this type of weapons are limited in use, after the m.suite
or zaku join the melee with light saber?
is maybe possible to give the rocket, and other bullet type limited
number of shoot after what they can or join the melee (and die with
honor :D) or going to restock at a ammo depot (base?)?
this can be probably slow type of game, but the fun (at least for me)

I have moved away from the energy and metal system. The game sees very large battles and reloading all the common mobile suits would become extremely tedious. Right now melee isn't in because the melee support isn't there. Well it is being considered, special weapons like the zgok's missiles are limited in ammo as is the ammo for the kampfer. Doms also are known to have limited ammunition. Because I want to focus on large battles I have to make on special suits have limited ammunition but we are looking at adding one for some ms, it seems that there is an interest here so I am going to put it on the pile of stuff that is to be done.sugacapra wrote:this can be probably slow type of game, but the fun (at least for me)

Hmm, I had taken out the shield blow off code because I thought people hated it. I can look at adding it back for you. It will be some work but I'll work on it. Right now the shields do not offer a bonus as they are just part of the firing animation. I like the idea suggested that they could maybe move slow with shields raised and defense increased. Gundam is a work in progress so some things are not added yet also some things are not added because I want to try and allow for ease of use. I cannot add all suggestions but I am always open for discussion and if you want to make a mutator to show me how you would like to see something work I am more than willing to take a look.

and m.s. firing some missiles volley then stopping using that..

factor can become nasty... (but large battles with reloading are
for my mind something that can be very exciting.. m.s. and zaku
fininishing ammo may be grouped and moved back.. with
2nd lines come in to reinforce.. :DD )
probably the AI and the lua scripts have to submit hard rework
to adapt to the ammo system.. but this can be a very high
add-on..
in RTS often the game end with zerg hordes.. having them forcing to restocking can reduce the horde effect
this mod rock really.
