ladder

Post by Dead.Rabit »

ok pples... i like E0's idea of a tournament.. though it has its floors as all players have to be present at the same time... would therefor a ladder system be a good idea... i mean on the website somewhere... could there be a ladder of the person with the highest win:loose ratio.... ok so if a noob comes along and wins his first match he goes streight to top...but thats just incentive to knock him off... im not sure how this could be done....

but if anyone who understands the codeing etc n how it works.. could you tell me if its at least posible? n if so insanely hard.. simple..?

also as an addition to E0's idea.. would a round robin be a better idea then an eliminations tournament? it would take longer and be a more accurate representation of the players skill.... the longer it is... more intense.. everyone is involved to the end and it gets more publicity.. =D

I think it should stop taking into account games that are more that a month old. Then if a newb loses a lot, he will not be haunted by his early record when he is really good. It would also prevent some competitiveness, and make it more like an info thing than a contest.

Lindir : it's not a bad idea. Or perhpas just keep the last 20 games played.

I voted yes because I do like the ladder idea. I really don't see why we can't just play a fun little elimination tournament for the time being though. Elimination tournys are the simplest and easiest form of compeditive play to impliment.
