For LAN servers, http://taspring.clan-sy.com/wiki/Lan
For hosting multiplayer games in the lobby online, just forward the UDP port 8452 to your PC if you are behind a router. If you need to look up how to forward ports on your particular router, go to http://www.portforward.com .

ok i wen to that forward ports site it helped me out but at the end it said if i had obtain an ip address automaticaly clicked all ready that i was all set and when i got in to the internet protocol (TCP/IP) properties it was already click but i dont understand if thats already clicked when i got in to the internet protocol (TCP/IP) properties dose that not mean that my ports are already forwarded?????
ok now can u help me?
sorry just pissed off because of how hard it is to make a server iwish it was alot easyer. I went to the port forwarding site, and continued to it untill the end. At the last step it said "If i had obtained an IP address automatically clicked" or something to that effect, after going through the properties settings and all that. It said I'm all set even from the beggining of all this, so why did I have to do all these steps?
you probably didn't... lets break this down...
Are you trying to connect to the default server that the TASClient connects to or are you trying to run your own server on your computer so that people can connect to you with the TASClient?
If you are trying to connect to the default server with TASClient, then you shouldn't need to change anything on your computer at all to connect to other peoples games unless your firewall is blocking the application. If you are trying to host then you may need to adjust your router settings (in your router... if you have one) with the stuff on the portforward site.
I've never run into "obtain an IP address automatically" being a problem with this type of thing, so I think they were probably suggesting that if it was set that way you could skip the next steps.
If you are trying to run your own server (for other peoples LObby Clients to connect to) I don't believe there are any docs on here for that so you'll just need to ask a little more specifically.
