TAU is 130GB of content and about 400GB a month of bandwidth...

Are you posting on TAU, are you either Froberg or Alantai?
I'm working with my team to gather up all of TA IW content and back it up in preparation for a move.

1) Hosting our content on moddb.
2) A free hosted website to upload TA IW website to and then link to moddb for downloads / gallery.
3) I purchase a website domain and register TA IW.

Nothing to actioned yet, just waiting to see what happens.

Was looking over UnitUniverse and frankly I'm surprised nobody has ported any of the unit packs to spring. Sure there are some crap models there but on the whole the quality is very good (and the unit packs even more).

The main drain of TAU network is bandwidth from file downloads, especially maps. Fileuniverse and unit universe alone took up a huge percentage of the bandwidth.

My theory is still that it is a conspiracy. But since the plotters would be geck and half the TAU staff, there's not much that could be done to stop them.

Personnaly I wish for the forum database to be saved and mirrored, with its attachment and search button. Because the most comprehensive knowledge ever about Total Annihilation modding (I bet we know stuff that even Cavedog ignored) is contained in the collectivness of TAU forums. But unsorted data is useless, so you need the search button. And exemples are worth millions words, so you need attachments.
