What software is good for making videos of spring? I tried running fraps while playing and ended up with a framerate of 1. (My PC has pretty good specs - Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, ATI 4870 graphics card.)

my pc is alot worse than yours and can make movies (1 gb ram, nvidia 6800 , AMD 2800+ @ ~2ghz) so you should be able to record super-duber good videos :

Then I used moviemaker 2 (freeware) to create .wmvs and add the audio track I recorded with audacity (freeware)


also i think its better to comment a replay and not the real game because you can fast forward and you know where action is going to happen so you wont miss it. Its a lot easier to avoid jumping around with the camera this way which as a viewer is slightly annoying.

I might also try recording the video and then commenting on the movie-file, it might be smoother because you can record the movie at half speed and then speed it up with video software.
Keep in mind the video will be compressed so if the view is zoomed out, its hard to tell stuff apart.

Oh and please dont do staged games, that would be really sad. spring is exciting enough on its on...?

Also bad quality due to google videos resizing the video.

This was done in high settings by noruas, and really it has nothing to do with what system we use to record, google is just annoying.

Also, the original file was 101mb big, and we need it 100mb to fit on youtube, so if anyone wants to make it smaller for me please do.

Note: This game was restarted about 5 times, and if you can imagine i have an intro to every single one, so you can hear that i'm

B)stuck for words, because i thought i might be repeating myself.

Next time we should have some more exciting commentary like the first video

My opinion is that the people commenting the games should know the mod, so that they can present strategies and mistakes. Just comparing to BA is quite boring, for me at least.

As the video resolution is low, you should have specified somewhere who plays. After listening for 5 min I could get that, but still it should be specified earlier.

I didn't watch other replays, but the camera movements were a bit too much in my opinion. Maybe stick to some part of the action until there is some (partial) conclusion ?

i dont know how you could resize it without losing quality but megaupload.com allows files up to 1024MB
Or maybe some springsite can host it?
To be honest i prefer downloadable files, the flashplayers usually slay the video and with youtube the audio sometimes goes out of sync.

Also what do people think about my replay? Is it too fast? Too gay?

Okay, to start, we want this to be fun, and i have watched XTA pros commentate.

What i found was they were to serious and unfriendly to new players, but fun for old xta players.

We are trying to make it easy for everyone to listen.

XTA isn't a well massively popular mod thus, i'm not going to be up to date with the in-and-outs on everything that goes on.

BA is the most played mod, and for people that start off playing Spring 90% of their games, if not more, will consist of BA games.

i will state this again, we are NOT making videos for pro players atm.

I did not make the video angles, thats all noruas's stuff so i cant speak for him.


Lastly, if you read my post, you would notice what i said, the game restarted atleast 5 times, and so introductions were messed up due to thinking i was repeating myself.

I didn't like camera at all. It looked nice and everything, but it was too close most of the time. I couldn't see any micro couse of that.
You using left/right top/bottom during commentating rly confused me. I didn't know what you're talking about and by the time you moved in with ur camera you turned bout 30 times so I had no idea which part we're looking at now. I could have used minimap but I couldn't see shit because of small resolution of the video.
Camera movement would look much more pro if you can make it turn slower.

I would prefer to download replays or had them uploaded in HD somewhere.

Commentating was nice. I like ur replays, keep up the good work.
There are plenty good BA games going on lately. I'm not sure if you want to see live game or if replay will do tho.

try hypercam. it can recored full resoultion. it also recoreds sound.
