Re: BloodBowl
I just saw it on PA. Holy crap, I remember spending hours with the 2nd edition carefully moving my guys around the styrofoam surface. Classic.

It looked good until it said "Turn base gameplay" Sports game/final fantasy. GTFO.

rofl shows how educated you are...
Firstly you can either play Turn Based or in Real Time
The turn based mode will be truthful to the original board game (which was very fun) and it will probably the mode of choice for the fans of the original
Cant wait for this game been tracking it for ages it looks good and i hope the TBS mode delivers like the boardgame did (i use to play in a local league in the board game and won 2 seasons in a row with my undead team)

Re: BloodBowl
Well done otherside, you just made out theres some education on this game or something?
Turn based fails hard, from the preview, real gameplay wont look like the actuall cinematic video.
looks like chess, with a ball.

Again, there is a Real Time Strategy Mode... it's near the end of the linked trailer.Spawn_Retard wrote:stuff
And Again, it's based on a Turn Based Board Game... One that was very popular for a long time and has many fans, they would be idiots not to include it.
And AGAIN, Turn Based Strategy games are awesome... I just keep waiting for someone to make a Turn Based Spring Mod... it would make me very happy.
Re: BloodBowl
Real-time mode looks like an RTS with a ball more than a sports game... which is cool. Bloodbowl is really a wargame set on a football field, and real-time wargames are generally RTS games, so making real-time bloodbowl feal more like an RTS wargame than a sports game is probably a good thing.
But yes, that means that all that video is just like Spring- you can probably create it in the replay mode, but in gameplay you'll spend most of the time in the overhead camera.
Still, including TBS mode means that it's also good for hotseats.
I assume the ruleset is the modern "living rulebook" and not the old, horrifically violent rules I grew up with (old 2nd-edition BloodBowl games were often really Last Man Standing wars more than sporting events).
So, when do they make Dungeonbowl? (expansion set in dungeon-crawler maps instead of a rectangular pitch).

anyone played this? was quite fun and made by the same people making the blood bowl game after certain legal issues were settled with games workshop!

Re: BloodBowl
Chaos league is awesome, I just played it all day. Individual players with skills and magic and abilities to be gained as they become more experienced and better players, its awesome. Both turn based and real time, as well.
Re: BloodBowl
thank god they didn't put the Necrons in this. Necrons would fucking SUCK at football.
Re: BloodBowl
It's based on old Bloodbowl (which is like 20 years old), which was loosely based on old warhammer (not warhammer 40K).Muzic wrote:thank god they didn't put the Necrons in this. Necrons would fucking SUCK at football.
Iirc, the original races were humans, orcs, elves, dwarves, dark elves, goblins, snotlings, halflings, ogres, trolls, minotaurs, treemen, skeletons, mummies, werewolves, skaven, and slan. You could build mixed teams, but there were various interaction limits preventing your teams from being perfectly mixed - elves don't pass to non-elves, for example, slan can't be mixed with anyone, etc.
Later versions (and thus, the videogame) seem to have removed this, in favour of race-limited teams like warhammer 40k (no mixing space marines with tau).
I remember the original (well, 2nd edition, when the game started to take of) manual was hilarious, with tons of flavour text about each team in the league (the goblin "Lowdown Rats" playbook was hilarious). That, and I find the names "Dwarf Giants" and "Orcland Raiders" to be hilarious.
I want a dwarven deathroller.
Re: BloodBowl
Shows how much I know about wh40k. You know what I mean though - mixing armies is very limited in Games Workshop games, but in old 2nd-edition Blood Bowl there were really only a few racial incompatibilities that split it up into effectively four factions that you could combine races however you liked into a team - good, evil (chaos), undead, and the Slan (lizard men that really weren't worth playing).smoth wrote:tau can take human auxiliaries.

Haha, sounds like win. Blood for the bloodbowl?
Re: BloodBowl
I would still much prefer Necromunda/GorkaMorka BF series style fps...
Re: BloodBowl
I'm interested in this title, I'll admit.
