Video Tutorial on Downloading and Using the Spring Client

Post by Wingflier »

I realize that a lot of people have trouble (initially) with using Spring. So I took the liberty of making a short 10 minute video on youtube on the basics of downloading and using the Spring client.

This is in order to help new players and to make things simpler for people who want to get involved in Spring.

Enjoy.

Be quiet IM, It's good that he made something, the fact that its a simple word. He can simply say on the side that he didn't say it right.

Great Video!

I'm adding a disclaimer to the video which is in the video itself. You can see it at the 5th second of the video.

The disclaimer reads, "The Spring Client is no way affiliated with Total Annihilation. Any mention of Total Annihilation in my video was purely unintentional and incorrect."

Hope this helps.

disclaimer is fine, but i'd just like people to stop calling spring ta spring, because we're not called ta spring anymore.

now i know why brands are worth so much money...

I realize that at points, it can be hard to read. Having said that, anyone with a basic understanding of internet browsers and computer games should be able to tell what's happening.

Also, I explain what's happening in the video for the entire 10 minutes, which should be more than enough information to get by.

I am confident that this video can guide anybody with an IQ above 70 in the use of Spring.

my iq is only 68,5 but i still tried to be helpful.

anyone with a basic understanding of internet browsers and computer games should be able to download and install a game on its own.
why not put spring.clan-sy.com in the video description so viewers can click it?

(link still works)

oh i thought you mean the youtube link.
the picture was just a screenshot of this tool:

I didnt know the english word so i googled a picture.

On a second thought it might be easier to reduce the screen resolution.

Done.

Also, I disagree that anyone with a browser and basic computer knowledge would know how to download, install, and use Spring. And even if they did, there is a lot of other useful information in there about the Spring program itself that I see a lot of questions about in the lobby.

(Such as how to download mods and maps.)

The video was meant to be as thorough as possible in 10 minutes time and if some people think it's way too simplified, they can skip to the ending part where it goes into more detail.
