New players like me owning you left right and center because you can't adapt to new systems...
It seems that the players with the most resistance to spring are the ones who were the most established as TA players. Give them a proper balance scheme to compeat on and they are compleatly lost.
Arrogance can only hinder, not help any argument you put forward.

In uberhack the main objective is to push out lots of small front units, and then push as many artillery out behind them as possible, the idea being to shell your opponents base out of existance. That's basicly the only hard coded way to win a round in uber hack... as the game progresses you just need to get bigger front units and more artillery to win.

OTA basicly just doesn't work well in spring because it's alternitive to offencive shelling is procing, and spring defence units block eachothers shots, breaking most of the most effective porcing methods.

XTA there is nearly always half a dozen workable builds. With arm you can go for brawlies, try a warrior rush, push zues out, longrange shell a strong base with scary range on your berthas, bulldog rush... and all of the end builds are totally noncompatable with rush builds, so you need to conciously stop your rush and focus on your tech, and if you do it too late your opponent will still win when he out-techs you. Core has just as many options plus krogoth. Also with both sides every potential build has a strong counter, and a few weak counters. Base defences in XTA all are weak to certian offencive stratigies. Knowing what your opponent is building gives you a HUGE advantage in XTA, because there is a strong counter that will be able to decimate his forces for every single build. Comparitively you don't need to know too much about your opponent's stratigey in uberhack at least... If you have to have is more front units and more artillery, of a greater total power then your opponent has. XTA doesn't reward the optimized build anywhere near as much as OTA or UH do, even if you time everything perfectly and far outproduce your opponent in XTA you aren't guarenteed a win because if they did a better job of scouting your builds and knowing your base they will still be able to take you out with hard counter units being properly used.

The vulcans and buzzsaws are the reasons why OTA>XTA
Are you kidding me?`

In OTA, a Buzzsaws where just like krogoths: Cool, strong, but not whorth it.

They had low life gatherd in one units, and excakly the same range as a bb. You could as well build build sevral BB, and presto, same result, better acurty, spread out life and so on. Okay, you got lower reload time, but if someone starts his buzz and someone starts building berthas, the bertha guy win since he gets a bertha up first and can start shelling the stupid buzz.

In XTA, they have RANGE! Freking around the world range! They are THE thing to use when attacking from range. BB are still important, but you gotta but em closer then before. Still, they shoot half true half a map, so they aren't bad. The Sy's lowerd to they WOULD'T be esay to build smack down right in the middle of your base when you porc.

The best mod would try to balance up units, and give each and every unit something special. What would seems like copys could be very diffrent, and yet balanced. It would show the divsety between unit types, and give every unit a weakness. No unit should be strong enougt to alone handle a balanced army, or atleast if that army knows what it's up agsint. It would make the uber units uber, the weak weak, and the everything usefull.

Oh, wait, thats XTA...

i win

yeah i agree with NoiZe better Bertha ranges and OTA styley buzzsaws would be great in XTA, but the SY's like xta just the way it is so oh well :-)
Buzzsaws may have lots of range but their reload time is immense coz they fire 4 shells then stop! x,x

at least the ota buzzsaw is cool when you finally build it. In xta you spend a million bucks building a piece of crap that is so inaccurate the shells fire sideways out of the gun.

Okay, now your exaggerating. They can hit ''pretty'' close. Unless he porc really close, your gonna hit something pretty close. Aging, many might hate XTA since it changes the balance of things. I mean, in OTA, they could be used as the perfect base defence! You just have to micro them, and you get a fucking BB range and power machine gun. And i don't think THAT was in it's description.

Then aging, slashers where suposed to be AA, not mobile missle towers. Meh, another reson to play UH then... but still, UH may have some perks, but i still like XTA. Makes more sense... for some reson...

yeah but they cost enough to make them viable only v late game to deal with krogs and the like. atm in xta the only krog counter is more than its cost in brawlers (still take ages to kill the bastad and can be countered by some AA guarding it) and .... DT walls? (which can be reclaimed) and (coz its xta) 100 spiders will take bout 1 minute to actually disable it! and besides the only real practical use in OTA was krog counter/ AI owner (get one jammed close to its base and :D)

Yes, krogoths are strong for their price. They have been lowerd sevral times you know...

To litthe? Disscus in XTA balance treadh.

Anyway, as i said, Buzzsaw new purpose!

Meaning shelling bases from VERY LONG RANGE!

VLRPC, remebear?

If they are a litthe do inacurate, we can change that to.

Tell me, if we changed the phew ''inbalance'' problems, would any of you OTA'ers consinder playing XTA?

If not, why?

Purpese. Purpose. Hmm, spelled like it's spoken, or spelled like i think it's spelled?

kixxe u been having a bad day or something? ur spellings all over the place! but vulcans cost so damn much....its just obscene IMO and they are useless (IMO) cruise missiles + nukes are way better (IMO)

Nukes can be counterd with anti'nuke, and cruise missiles? You mean the former EMP launcher? Dosen't it have the range of a BB and not a Vulcan?

Aging, the vulcan is usefull if you get it up. It's costy, but's it's a nuke with no anti. If you can hit some sweet spots of his base, he's scewed. In any case, a vulcna will cuase MAJOR PAIN to the enemy.

Oh, and sorry for spreading out, it's just something i do. I try to keep each and every ''subject'' in it's own line, since it makes it esayer to read and i've been thougt that way.

Let's leave this treadh alone and continue in XTA balance, shall we?

Again, to point out the sillyness of the thread, and the level of intelligence taking place:
I win
If you need to place that at the end of one of your arguments, chances are the truth is quite the opposite.

...as is to be expected from a thread entitled "[poll] OTA vs XTA"...

"I win" is as close to a conlusive proof as anyone is going to get on these subjects, and make no mistake, I'm not calling that a conclusive proof.

Thank you for creating this poll. It is very useful to be able to know which one is better based on how people vote, rather than spending time trying out both.
