no mod works
i have downloaded spring a while ago and i didn't know how to install mods, but now i do, and i have installed a few, BA 6.31 and BA 6.61, and CA 3330 and 3809, but none of them work, when i open them, they give me different errors, the BA's tell me could not open default cursor, and the CA's tell me could not open WAV file, why is this? (i *cough*don't*cough* have total annihilation
... maybe that's why... although spring isn't supposed to rely on it right?)

Re: no mod works
The Spring engine does not rely on any specific game content, because it is an engine and only interprets the supplied content.
Any *A mod, however, is probably going to require that content from TA. You can find it at the various Spring-related file download sites (it's in a file called "base-ota-content.zip", I think). Note that you can legally download it only if you own TA.

Re: no mod works
The discussion was not about those files themselves, they've been in Spring practically forever, it's about how the new installer pretends not to contains them, but they are still auto-downloaded seconds after starting the lobby. Which is probably all due to good will and wanting to make it easy for the end user, but ends up a little more hypocritical than the old way whichI prefered of including them in the installer, with a little notice about how it was up to your ethics to leave them ticked or not.insaneinside wrote:This has been a recent topic of discussion -- see topic Spring secretly force people to be illegal!.
