Yeh if you get a bit cheeky and porc too far forwards, but if you keep plenty of mobile units and don't just spam HLT it's not so bad.dojeh_ wrote:or u get combombed cuz of expanding with com ;PYHCIR wrote: If you are the person on the offensive from the start, you control the game.

Re: Getting pissed.
If a person tries to drop a commander in your base to dgun your factory a small group of flash usually works. Your com should be far away from your factory in the average DSD game, and since he shouldn't be close to a massive defence line either, but a mobile army...
There really isn't much to combomb in DSD. Not unless you got another ally ready to reclaim.

Re: Getting pissed.
Comm bombing, by its very nature, usually involves sending your commander into the ENEMY base in order to inflict massive damage/change the outcome of the game.

wingflier :D u still can combomb if " 2. Dgun limit: Enabled." :)
and "1. No commander, no control." --> enemy team still has the better chance to get com corps :)
1. The first option (dgun limit), basically turns your commander into a small laser pussy outside of his starting base area, and so prevents him from being able to kill more than a few flashes without dieing. It also means that it's almost impossible that he will escape once behind enemy lines.
2. The second option (no commander, no control) I think will discourage most players from participating in this kind of behavior in the first place. As it's not so funny once comm bombing means that you are out of the game.
3. With these options, it only takes a few defenders or llts to protect your base from a "comm bomb".
4. Whenever somebody does decide to comm bomb, the chance of them escaping, with only the little red laser, is virtually none. And therefore, even if they do decide to self-destruct their commander, the team that's the victim now has a bunch of free metal.
Everyone's a winner.
edit: But of course, don't expect people to actually PLAY with these settings.
That would make it fair...

It's fair as it is since everyone can do the same thing.Wingflier wrote:That would make it fair...

True, but it might turn into a weird game if everyone ACTUALLY did it. xDRegret wrote:It's fair as it is since everyone can do the same thing.Wingflier wrote:That would make it fair...

That would be giving 2 people on the street guns and telling them it's a fair fight.Regret wrote:It's fair as it is since everyone can do the same thing.Wingflier wrote:That would make it fair...
Well sure it's FAIR, but whoever shoots first wins. It's about as fair as the No Child Left Behind act. It sounds good on paper, but in practice it's really stupid.

actually people miss quite often unless they practice with their gun.

Regret we all know how pro-comm bomb you are. And there are many of us who find comm bombing to be a cheap and dishonorable tactic which it takes a really special type of person to resort too.Regret wrote:Whoever kills the base of the other wins. And I don't mean special in a good way.
Saying that comm bombing is fair because each side can do it is like strapping two people with bombs and giving each one of them the detonator to the other person. Sure, whoever presses the button first wins, so it's fair. But it's retarded. No skill involved.

Tbfh i think the com's usefullness scales really well in xta, Babbles in particular has made really effective use of cloaked/jammed com pushing the line well into the late game.
Other than an aa line standoff where you are confident you can force the enemy to lose units+com where you lose only com, combomb is generally a pretty bad move in XTA team games (I play com ends 1v1)
BA com is a bit of a joke after the first few minutes, with his main role being an llt pusher in a lot of situations. I think the com corpse exacerbates the CB "problem" because it adds a massive incentive to com for com cb, if you are conifident that you will be the one getting cons/an ally com in to reclaim.
Best solution is play All coms on team dead= game ends.
Altho I dont really have an issue with CB, even in a team game where in the first 2 mins you get cb'd out by captain LOLOL I MAEK ATLAS. The capacity for a quick finish is something I really enjoy about most *A mods.

Now here is the main reason... Overcrowded maps make people go air and combomb, in order to get metal and expand!Gota wrote:Dont play 8v8 DSD games...in the tight porcy compat that results out of the number of players combombs are a must.
Stop being idiot and play maps in a way they are designed to be played. Properly fitted games according the map will not provoke people to airstarts and even if so, possible combombs aint going to effect gameplay negatively. (This statement is not valid concerning Regret :>)

That's because I actually know how to play good.SirArtturi wrote:(This statement is not valid concerning Regret :>)

No, that's because you actually play good air. Or atleast different air gameplay. I don't know how you play anything else since everytime you play you go air and do basically the same what in last time...Regret wrote:That's because I actually know how to play good.SirArtturi wrote:(This statement is not valid concerning Regret :>)
