Sound Volume

Post by MelTraX »

To get your unit sounds back to full volume until the next Spring release, open "C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\springsettings.cfg" and set "UnitReplyVolume" to 100 (as well as UnitReplySoundVolume just to be sure :P)..

You can set all config values from ingame:

Code: Select all

/seti UnitReplyVolume 100

you can also use this:
http://springlobby.info/installer/springsettings.exe (replace current with that and adjust reply volume)

I dont see why anyone would ever want unit reply to 100.

Set it to something below 10, or you go insane after spamming some flashes/gators

and I said unitreplies were loaded with a default volume of 5.0f before and now with 1.0f.
so the old default of 20 should now be 100.

...
Jan 13 00:51:46 <MelBot>	<Auswaschbar> UnitReplySoundVolume -> UnitReplyVolume
...
Jan 13 00:52:00 <_koshi_>	that's all? default 20 ok?

I cut your stuff because i didn't get it then, see first line of the paste :P

Anyways, if I put default at 100 I'm at the end of current range, should I just scale that by 5 too?
I'm not exactly keen on performing any internal scaling (ie representing 0-100 to user and write sth else)

500% seems a bit much. IMO 150% seems for reasonable.

why the change? Just to make it more "Uniform" across sound settings?

Also... doesn't the installer dl springsettings from the site each time? SO if I run the installer now, wouldn't it grab the absolute latest?

Yes it will. The "Reply volume" slider now controls the value of "UnitReplyVolume" instead of "UnitReplySoundVolume", max is 150, default 100 (read; 150%, 100% )

As for the why of change, jk better answer that, I've been informed only after it was already done and producing the fubar in current release.

edit: remember this volume is relative to global sound volume
