All spring-related apps crash on startup

This happened on both my computers, and idk what i did to cause it. One time it happened after a spronglobby update, the other time it happened after TASClient began acting a little cranky and i restarted it. The result? SL, TASClient, Spring binary, and springsettings all crash on startup I have tried searching the registry for TASclient data (none found), emptying folders, uninstalling and reinstalling, changing permissions.

It has come to my attention that errors of this type occur more frequently in 0.78 (even though these errors occur in both 0.77b5 and 0.78), and the devs are working on it, but I want to know what is wrong, what's causing it, and most importantly, how to fix it.

Also, I am sure that this error as nothing to do with viruses, etc.
All other apps work fine, and spring works on linux on the same computers

very, very, very strange. as in, wtf strange. no idea. reinstall in a different directory, maybe make sure your antivirus isn't all crazy about something. disable springdownloader. i don't know. your crash here is pretty unique.

uninstalled spring, deleted the directory (except for /mods and /luaui (i want my configs safe! )) ran ccleaner on the registry (picked up nothing tho) and now reinstalling on a different drive...

so far so good, springsettings works...

YAY! TASclient works too! what caused the issue though, i wonder?

It's possible that a file got corrupted somehow ... it's windoze ... no one will ever know xD
