Time for some drawing

Post by Hoi »

I was bored, so I thought let's draw something :P

Image

I think it looks like a gun, but the details aren't very good, however, I think I did well for my first (hard surface) 2d thing.

Comments welcome

Now that is the drawing. The other image is a rendered pistol.

Maybe drawing is the wrong word.

It's not a mesh, I took a random picture, printed it, painted the shape on my comp and shaded it.

So that's the drawing, and then I filled it and shaded (looked at the picture a bit :P)

or maybe you found a 3d model of a gun and traced it badly with a graphics program's paintbrush tool

Belive what you want to belive... there's no model involved.

e: I'm not posting this becaus I want credit or something, just want to know how I did the shading...

You're the one who drew it, you should know how you did the shading...

I think he wants to know how well he did, rather than how he did it. As in, he is looking for critique. That said, it looks nothing like a drawing, and more like a low poly model with bad textures and a bad render.

needs more 'texture' on the handgrip. the grips on pistols are usually coarsly textred so as to privide better, non-slip gripping surfaces.

Looks good as a drawing, except the area below the barrel, in front of the trigger. If this was a model, I'd say your smoothing groups are f'ed up. The reflectivity kind've dies, when it should become a little stronger, imo.
