Inability to be 100% sure about someone breaking this rule = False positive bans

Making email verification cant hurt at all.It can only make smurfing that much harder whic his good.
It will act as a stabilizing factor in the registration making people think twice before running and making new users.
Like i said this needs to be added as an announcement on thelobby and forums that smurfing is bannable and than start from small punishments and go on from there.

You dont agree it would be a lot more work for moderators if they had to enforce banning of every single smurf caught, checking accusations of smurfing and so on and on?

Here's an idea, if you make it to higher ranks on other accounts, you get a password type deal that allows you to create new accounts with ranks you have already achieved.

Since nobody except afew care about smurfing, why not make it so if people really do want to do it, they can atleast show they know their Flashes from their Penetrators.

btw, stop the drama. I'm totally with Regret here. Anyone playing a little bit seriously just knows smurfing isn't more an issue than anything else on Spring. It just brings out some social issues
(like dicks crying about smurfing because they lost a teamgame(I'm not talking about you Wisse =) ). But every now and then, a skillfull player plays like shit, or a gold noob ruins a game, and the problem disappears into a bigger one ===>

1. You have no way to ensure that a game is gonna be balanced.
2. People don't like to loose
3. Moreso, when they do, they're likely to say it's some other people's fault.

I mean , i have ruined some games, everyone going for a comnap/bomb/hunt game for lolz did, or because someone annoyed you. Whatever, making smurfs the problem is so easy and so wrong ...

Doesnt it just piss you off when ur hosting with, lets say, a min rank of 4, and you get sum lvl 1 newbie joining. You ask kindly that they could leave or spec because of the min rank, and they refuse. After turning on min-rank auto kicking, and having them try to join around a thousand times with the same message-

- you would think they get the idea, right? But no; Instead you are flamed for 15 minutes by somebody on the other side of the world screaming at you that they are a smurf and they are actually lvl 5 and know the game.
That's not the point, I tell them. You will totally screw up the balance, and if you want to join, use your old account, as the only real reason for smurfing is to go back to lvl 1, and the only reason for that, as i see it, is to gain an unfair balance in the teams on your side.

Imo, smurfing is born out of the "If I'm not winning, I'm not having fun" mentality, coupled with the Internet Fuckwad Theory meaning people don't feel they should have to be accountable for their actions.

I mean really... Why do people smurf? Whats there to gain? I am genuinely curious, maybe im missing out on something? There have been a few people posting who have mentioned what i would consider 'good' reasons to smurf (dev/mod anonymity for ex) but Id like to know why the people who smurf do it.
