Spring: 1944 beta testing

Post by Nemo »

After five and a half months of alternating work and laziness, we're back into release/test mode with a vengeance.

If you think you'll be able to commit to playing a lot of S44 over the next few weeks, we'd love you to help us test this sucker before we release. Previous testers should still have access, and are very welcome. Ability to give good feedback and type clearly in English or Russian is a plus. But the main thing is playing a lot and telling us about it.

If you'd like to be a tester, post in this thread (clicky)

Thanks much, hope to Tiger-stomp you soon.

PS: for the people who are confused about what S44 is. The fighter plane and sweet looking tank in the "Spring Engine" header at the top of the page are from our game. Its a WWII RTS, and unlike every other one of the bazillion WWII RTS games out there, its mind-blowing awesome to play, and is free.

Interesting behavior with phpbb and the edit marker. Test to remove it failed; oh well.

Wow, you're making them give you resumes as punishment for being unable to find the link on their own?

We ask for a bit of information about people so we 1) have a sense of when they'd be around, and 2) so we can see if we should pester them for further help beyond playtesting.

The link isn't posted here for the simple reason that I don't want a repeat of a few years ago, when some guy spammed #main with it WAY before the game was ready to be seen. Yes, this is an open source project and our game has been accessible/downloadable in .sdd form from sourceforge for ages, but it would be lovely if we were able to release on our own terms.

Serious Business. It's not like the form takes more than a minute to fill out...

Yeah, and we retain the right to refuse people. Give us a break.
